Parable of the Good Samaritan: The Parables of Jesus with R.C. Sproul

Published 2021-03-16
We are called to love every human being as much as we love ourselves—even those who despise us in return. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul indicates how Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan upholds the dignity inherent to those made in the image of God.

This message is from R.C. Sproul's 12-part teaching series The Parables of Jesus. Learn more: www.ligonier.org/learn/series/the-parables-of-jesu…

I like this, we can have our differences but we are still neighbors.

And yet we all fail to care for our neighbors in the same way we care for ourselves so that we may have eternal life.
  • CHRIST is simply teaching that "faith" ( love of GOD) and "good works" ( love of neighbor) are inseparably essential for one "to inherit or have a share in the grace of eternal life/salvation.
  • This parable is the foundation by which I live as a follower of the Guidelines of Problacism. I consequently live an abundant life totally fulfilled without any anxiety, fears or depression.
  • What is truly radical here is that Jesus says that everyone is our neighbour no matter what they believe, or don't believe, or what their opinions are, or how they 'identify'.

The people who look like they can save me and/or someone else and cannot but only want the money should not be in the workforce. Amen.

  • Wow, you seem to teach as one having authority, and not as the scribes. The soft still voice. Thank you for a wonderful teaching.

Also one of my two favourite parables. The other been the parable of the sower of seed.

From 5:44 Sproul shows from the bible that none of us can keep the law, but he ends by demonstrating how he loves his neighbour, rather than saying whatever he does for his neighbour, he loves himself more. I've just listened to John MacArthur's sermon on this parable.
