They seem to blame everything else except the high crime and the shoplifting and the lack to prosecuted criminals.

Congratulations, San Francisco voters. You got exactly what you voted for.
  • She didn’t even acknowledge that crime is the reason Nordstrom is closing.

Sad for all those retail employees that lost their job
  • @garycombs5721
They voted to decriminalize shoplifting and then can’t understand why retail is failing. SMH

There is no decline in retail brick and mortar. People just choose to shop where it’s clean and safe

😠 It's a crime what's been happening to SF downtown! Stop treating repeated addicts and thieves with compassion and leniency. They don't deserve it and are, literally, robbing the life out of SF!

Ikea isn't a game changer. It's product isn't as easy to steal. They have little, or no items near the exit doors, and furniture usually is in 2 or more packages, and are heavy and useless if all the items's components aren't taken at once.

SF residents need to start voting for different leaders. All their leaders have failed them miserably. Nightmare of crime, drugs, and filth.

If we don’t stand up against criminals The worst isn’t yet here.

It warms my heart to see people getting what they have voted for. I felt happy for these people. They earned it.

I saw guy hitting a meth pipe inside the mall back in April. Then I go outside and it’s a zombie apocalypse. I really thought I’d be robbed by the time I got to my car. Who the hell would want to shop there now?
  • Yes people's shopping habits have changed, they dont like shopping amongst homeless tents, human excrement, used needles, and drug addicts

We used to live 30 minutes east of SFO and would visit SFO almost every other weekend and through the years, we’ve seen the deteriorating conditions that plagued the city. The leadership or lack of it, or it’s sympathetic stance towards “homelessness”, support for drug addiction, crime, etc didn’t help at all.. so sad to see the city by the bay going through this mess.

Doesn't matter what concept you bring the the mall if the retail stores keeps being robbed

Former SF resident. The residents demanded the homeless be gotten rid of - for decades. Business demanded it - for decades. The city - a little too late - is now demanding it. They have all been sandbagged at every turn by "homeless advocates" and the courts. I don't know how this gets fixed. It's not like most of the homeless are employable in any capacity whatsoever. Most of them, at least when I lived there, were visibly and obviously insane.

The lady interviewed stated "Younger people want to see newer concepts." How about not getting ROBBED as a "Newer Concept." The mayor reminds me of Marie Antoinette stating "Let them eat cake." She is living in LALA Land.

I don’t think IKEA will last one year in San Francisco
