Those few minutes when Germany and Spain were both going out was pure madness

This group was crazy. 1st round Japan beat Germany, then Spain destroyed Costa Rica 7-0. But the next round Costa Rica beat Japan and Spain and Germany tied, and in the last round Spain lost to Japan and Costa Rica put up a great fight against Germany, they started losing 0-1 then came back to 2-1, but eventually Germany came back stronger scoring 3 more goals for a 2-4. When Costa Rica was winning, in those brief little 3 minutes, Japan and Costa Rica were both qualifying to the round of 16 and leaving Spain and Germany behind. Add that to the fact a lot of ppl had to change channels constantly to see how both matches were going.

When Costa Rica turned the tables, both Japan and Costa Rica had a chance to break through... What a game!

This was an absolute rollercoaster of a match

To consider that for a moment Costa Rica was going through the second round, leaving behind Spain and Germany, what an amazing show of heart and grit by the Ticos.

Germany won that's why Spain qualified but Spain couldn't do the same but kudos to Japan for playing well

When i heard that germany didnt win anything for 8 years i was shocked. But even worse i read that England didnt won anything in 56 years i was both shocked and horrified.

To think that for a few minutes, Germany was bottom of the group, Spain wasn't advancing and Japan topped the group just shows how insane this WC and especially this group was.

I started to cheer Costa Rica after they scored their second goal, I wished them victory.

Germany eliminated both times in the first round, it's historic but the end of an era. I didn’t expected to see Japan first of the group

Costa Rica went down fighting. It wasn't the total humiliation that I expected. I respect that.

What a shocking exit for Germany, Japan humiliated Spain. Well-done Costa Rica and Japan for just a wonderful performance in world Cup.

I covered my mouth as well (in shock) knowing Germany didn't qualify for the knockout stages

I was more impressed by the attitude and game of Costa Rica. Even though it was an important game for both, they showed they enjoy their game and love celebrating their goals. Germany was more mechanical this day
