A few years ago I stopped by a random pawn shop looking for DvDs and found a 1973 $8000 holy grail flamenco guitar for $100 because the pawn shop misidentified an Alvarez Spanish guitar with an infamous cheap Alvarez Japanese brand. The guitar was hanging in the cheap section of trash guitars, because it had a small crack in the cedar soundboard (since repaired) .. I couldn't believe my eyes, because I live in the Midwest where flamenco guitars just dont exist, and I happen to play flamenco, the odds were a million to one that I find the one guitar on top of my wishlist for $100. It was also built the same year I was born. The happiest day of my life.

Oh dear, if I was that lady with the '56 Gibson, unless I was struggling financially, I'd have kept it as a family heirloom, passing it down to a grandchild.

Dude with that Jimi Hendrix Strat made the right decision. In my opinion that guitar is priceless!!
