On the Lord's Errand: The Life of Thomas S. Monson

Published 2018-01-03
On any given day at a handful of nursing homes in Salt Lake City, a buoyant yet distinguished elderly gentleman would be seen talking, laughing and listening to the residents. Despite his heavy load of religious assignments, Thomas S. Monson, the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was a self-appointed chaplain for these facilities.

We purchased a burial plot in Salt Lake City's City Cemetery. No special place in particular; just a place that seemed quiet and peaceful. I loved the idea of being near so many of the Lord's special witnesses. Imagine our surprise when in 2018 we learned that our burial plot was only a few short paces from where President Monson was interred. There are so many special people in that cemetery and we can only imagine what it will be like when we see them on the other side.
  • You get great apostles and prophets by them having great examples I think this is the one thing I admire the most about the Mormon faith. The foundation of the faith is based on family. It doesn't happen automatically, it takes work, lots of work. Thank you president Monson.

  • Everything shows the truthfulness of the restored gospel. We shall meet again. Thank to he that shared this awesome accomplishment.
  • I am grateful for the service of President Monson, and enjoyed learning more about this dear servant of the Lord!

President Monson was a near perfect example of how to love others.

President Monson was very familiar to my parents. We lived in the Temple View Stake. I am the youngest of eight, so I don't remember him. I love this prophet! I have listened to many kind and wonderful stories of him. I have heard his voice as an apostle and a prophet. I love him! He sent a letter to my mother as a widow. He signed it with his own hand. She always treasured it. I am blessed to treasure that letter in my home.

I loved that story of Crystal Methvin. His testimony made me tear up, the Spirit testified to me that Jesus of Nazareth hears and answers our prayers!

He is so wonderful, god like, beyond mortal man. I would follow and worship him wherever he goes. He is always on the Lords errand and is paid very well indeed..

There should be more like these videos to really introduce the Church to the Philippine society.
  • I received a witness that Thomas S. Moson was Gods prophet. It was not by flesh and blood that this knowledge came to me, but by the Father through the Holy Ghost.

  • I had friends that knew Monson and said he was very dismissive and rude. Not sure why we worship these men.
