  • The War Thunder players all took the day off from leaking government blueprints to remind me that the ugly sci-fi tank is based off an ugly real life tank as though that somehow fixes the fact that it's ugly. Thank you for your comments though, don't be shy! EDIT: I don't want to disrupt my joke, but I want to add: This is the most fun comments I've read in forever, you've all got a lot of great picks (and awful, downright terrible picks too, but I respect the hustle.)
  • @YGAkira
"I'm a Drukhari player but I hate bdsm, goth elves and feet". I'm guessing Drukhari isn't his main army.
  • @Epsilvonic
Eric liking the Dreadknight but hating the Telemon defies understanding. This man’s tastes are as enigmatic as Tzeentch, no wonder he plays psykers
  • The holo-shield on the Lancer is so frustrating though, since you have to pour out a dish of bubble solution and dip the shield in at the start of every game.
  • Brad: has issues with Vindicator for body mounted main gun for difficulty of aiming and that gun takes up crew space Real-Life SPGs: "This is the price we must pay for the Mobile Tank Blapanator 5000" I love this on an indescribable level.
  • I love how much of this is: "This is dumb and ugly." "No, it's dumb and cute."
  • @Jarlballin123
The vindicator was based off of the sturm tiger, which was used as a siege gun, it looks glorious 😂
  • @MrGibbification
I was legitimately shocked that the invader ATV wasn't the space marine pick.
  • @rononel8046
Astorath's armour is based upon the armour worn by Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992. You know, since the Blood Angels are vampires and all that...
  • @nateshade
Fun fact: In the Necron Codex, there is an official GW list that proxies in Lady Olynder for a Transcendent C'tan so even they know how bad the finecasts are

The little thing next to Huron is called the Hamadrya. It’s Huron’s chaos familiar that allows him to better perform chaos sorcery and grants him various boons that, though unpredictable in nature, always tend to be what is needed at the time, such as protecting him from psychic attacks and allowing him to read thoughts to avoid assassination attempts. Though that is the form it most often takes it’s said to shift between shapes and just sorta appears and disappears from sight. More importantly, it’s his pet monkey to go along with the whole pirate aesthetic.
  • 29:08 Jokaero may have been included in Rogue Trader as a reference to Discworld, a fantasy series which features a librarian trapped in an orangutan’s body. The first few Discworld books were published in the early 80s, and Rogue Trader came out in 1987.

Brad: "Catachan Jungle Fighters" Me, while painting Catachan Jungle Fighters: "Yep. These models are ugly. Not going to stop me."
  • @sputnik128
The fact that GW used a kitbashed AOS model to represent a C'Tan in the new Necron codex speaks volumes
  • @hb3n164
The grimaldus helmet is especially weird, because in the lore he has a pretty iconic skull helmet, more akin to normal chaplains, so i really dont know why GW went with this design
  • @stephenferry3017
First of all, Old Marines forever. Second, the vindicator is a wonderful tank. The siege shield doesn't make sense without the dangerous terrain rules, but lorewise, this tank is breaching lines and bulldozing fortifications. So the dozer blade sort of makes sense. The nostalgia of blowing up an entire squad of marines in one shot in 6th ed was a real vibe.
  • @Spoonergasm
The best part about how old and bad the Swooping Hawks are is the fact that their main bodies are now 26 (edited) years old, but their wings have been used since the ROGUE TRADER era. That's the 80's, baby. Almost 40. Good pick.
  • I kinda like the Enginseer being so "normal" for Ad.Mech, because it kinda make sense ? The Magi are your "top HQs" (beside Cawl), so them being so weird and full of character is nice, but it's better when contrasted by "average joes" playing support role. They're Generals and he's just the Captain.
  • @jonhadley5600
I love that Eric’s opinion for the doom scythe was that “we have enough bikes” and, during the model wishlist episode he wanted bike models for everyone. 😂

I'll be the one guy - you won't appreciate the Nob kit unless you build it. It is one of the most versatile plastic kits GW has ever produced, you could build it 10 times and never have an identical Nob, mix in bits from other kits and some minimal chopwork and every one of them will have a unique look. It's a smorgasbord of spare bits which any Ork collector will tell you is a must for a good Ork kit. And, until the new Boyz kit is rectified, it is still the only and best solution to a problem that has plagued the Ork range since the Brian Nelson revamp - Boss Nobs. The one in the 3rd edition kit is too shrimpy to work as a proper Nob, and the new kit's Nob, while better scaled, is a victim of modern GW kit design in that it's going to be a copy-paste across all your mobs with just the occasional weapon swap. A single Nob kit salvages up to 5 Boyz mobs by giving them each a unique, characterful leader that properly stands out from the horde.
