Their best album yet Imo. This feels like their real comeback after the disappointing fotb (which I still liked). Amazing record

The closing track is like Vampire Weekend + Neutral Milk Hotel + The Microphones + Black Midi + Sufjan. Incredibly ambitious

Great reaction! I think this album will make more sense when you listen to Modern Vampires of the City (2013), which I think is their masterpiece and was a maturation of their style. This album feels like a spiritual successor to it. I strongly recommend reacting to Modern Vampires of the City!

Insane album. Classic VW with a mature, raw, unapologetic music. Who ever produced this needs all the rewards.

This might be my favourite release of the year so far. Just from a few listens even the songs that didn't grab me at first feel incredible now.

It's funny what you said at the end. I haven't even got to the lyricism with so much insane instrumental paths that seem to overwhelm and suck you in on the first several listens...but in a very good way. BTW - I wish I had so much hair to play with. That makes me a little jealous...but in a very good way, as well. Anytime the band puts out new music, it's like striking gold all over again. And this one is no exception.

Early album of the year contender for me. "Mary Boone" might be my favorite song of the year so far. That Soul II Soul sample drop hits me in the nostalgia zone.
