Is solar truly worth it? We invested millions of pesos for our solar setup at the #skypod with the hopes that not only will our home be greener but will also help us save on our electricity bills. In this video we do an electric bill reveal, take a tour of our solar system, and most importantly answer the question "Was it all worth it?"

  • I have a solar power system set up for a 6.2kWp grid-tied system, and it's really worth it. My electric bill is between 2 to 3 thousand a month from a supposed 15-18k monthly bill. I'm on net metering too. One of the biggest mistakes that I made was when I only opted for grid-tied, and now I am planning to upgrade it to a Hybrid System with a battery. For those of you who are planning to install solar, please do so. It was Slater Young who helped me decide, not only on the installation of the solar power system but also on the construction of our dream home. Thanks, Slater!

Another informative and worth-the-time videos, I love how he easily explains a complicated topic and you never get bored until you finish the video. BTW I know you cover engineering related topics but if you can also tackle money growing techniques like time deposit vs regular savings vs Pag-ibig Savings :)
  • @poysportal
Well explained and very informative. 👍

ang ganda ng solar system, this can be a big change for the Philippines if ever maging malawakang project ito ng bansa. maganda at malaking tulong para sa lahat, makakatipid talaga

This is lit Slater👏👏👏 galing, very good investment indeed.
  • kudosss!! hoping next is algae generated power!! yayy been studying this and it's satisfying to know a lot more about algae! and also this will also be a part of my architecture thesis!! 🥰✊

You really have to invest a lot for the set up. I hope it's really worth it. Our government should really consider looking at the benefits of solar power amd focus on using alternative sources of energy to lessen our electricity bills. Thank you Slater Young for sharing and more power!

Cost wise I think more or less almost the same. It is more on choosing between Sustainability (renewable energy / less emission / freedom) over Grid Connection (provider reliability / maintenance / services). A win some - lose some situation.
