The Playful Pioneers homeschool look through

Published 2018-07-09
A detailed flip through of the Playful Pioneers curriculum by The Peaceful Press. It is a charlotte mason inspired program with lots of hands on learning and nature exploration. It follows the little house series and his an early american history based curriculum. We're using this or second grade and will do a review further into our year. We school year round and start the middle of July :)

  • Great video! Thanks for being so in depth! I’ve been having a hard time finding good flip throughs, and this was wonderful!

Hi! I just found your review and was wondering how you felt about this curriculum after using it for a year? It looks so good and is one of my top contenders for this coming school year for my children - 3rd, 1st, and PreK-4. Thanks!

What a great review! What are you supplementing with? You said you needed to supplement Language Arts, but you were pointing at a different subjects when you were going through the first book. Thank you!
  • Oh my gosh this looks so amazing!! For some reason I thought this was a preschool curriculum. Now I’m bummed. Great video!! Thanks for sharing!! 😍

Hi! I am interested in getting this for my kiddos next year, how has this been for you so far?
  • @agamble1126
Did you end up using this? I was looking through your midyear reviews for his second grade year and I didn't see any mention of this curriculum.
  • I have a question about The Ology. It's not available on Amazon until late October. Is the Kindle version OK to use?
  • @Cecibug1
With that larger file you printed you could pull out the older aged work and at least save it for the future!
  • We are literally doing the same year! I am doing Playful Pioneers with my four children 8 and under as well as The Good and the Beautiful for LA and Right Start for math lol how funny! We started Monday and loving it! I hope you have a good year!

This is one of the flip throughs of this curriculum I've seen! Great job <3

Hey. We also use TGTB LA. We are in levels 3 & 4...do you think it would be too much to incorporate/add The Playful Pioneers into our scheme of things? I feel like TGTB is A LOT in the way of dictation etc. I don't want to overwhelm my kiddos, but at the same time we all love love love Laura Ingalls! Are there enough hours in the day to do both without feeling overwhelmed or would I have to cut back a little in TGTB for the year we do Playful Pioneers?
  • Why did you switch from beautiful feet and math lessons for a living education? Or are you doing them all? I have way too many good things going, I need to cut some things. Tricky question is what.

It really looks lovely! Simple and super doable considering the fact that it's a hands on curriculum. I am however very concerned about teaching our children a very global approach to History. I wonder how much truth this tells about American Indian Tribes. I do not want anything that is too European only and only Western Arts, etc.
