Rule 1 of lawn maintenance. Always walk your yard before cutting the grass. People are people's, kids are kids. My front yard being half mile long, I walk it as I use the string trimmer to hit fence line and trim around trees and drainage ditches. People have thrown shoes, medium rocks, bottles, cans, used diapers and other stuff. It's a job just keeping that stuff up. I could use the mower, but then I stand that chance of making bigger mess with trash or damaging the machine. Once I get behind the gate. It's a cake walk then. No trash or debris on rest of property. It's a labor of love I must admit it. But, I love for the front of the house to look stunning for the weekends and Sunday drivers to oogle.

My yard is the same way. People promise to come cut and then I don’t hear from them. Disabled or not I’m going to buy a lawnmower on the first of the month.
