Magnetic Standoffs for CO2 Laser Cutter

Published 2021-11-20
Made some Magnetic standoffs for our CO2 Laser Cutter to raise material further off of the bed for better airflow and less backside burning.

Here are links to the parts I used:
Cone Spikes: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V8KCM2H/ref=ppx_yo_dt…
M3 8mm Flat Head Socket Cap Screws Countersunk Bolt: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HNDLHXF/ref=ppx_yo_dt… (be sure to select 8mm long)
Magnet with a countersunk hole through the center: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TJ5PBZX/ref=ppx_yo_dt…

I had a local metalworker cut and bend one edge to the metal plate for use as my surface. It's 16 gauge steel.

  • Can you please provide a link to the products? I looks like a great system for the application. Thank you.

Awesome idea!! What about warped material? How do you hold it down onto the spikes?
