Cherish this moment lads, because this will be the last “Nintendo GameCube: Shaping a Generation” video Scott will ever make
  • @danandtab7463
this came out when I was in college. At the time my roommate got a $200 speeding ticket and was like "aw maan that was my GAME CUBE MONEY". I think of that every time.
  • My childhood home had a flooding issue, and my GameCube was kept in the basement where one day came bumbling downstairs to find myself knee deep in water. I waded through the water to my cube, fully submerged, and tried to turn it on and play pokemon coliseum, completely ignoring the flooded ass basement.
  • Animal Crossing on the gamecube was the game that got my mother into gaming. I'd purchased the game so my niece and nephew had something to play around with, but they had trouble reading, and would ask their grandmother to read the game for them. Eventually she was more into the game than the kids were. She played it every single day, for years, so they didn't miss anything. She's STILL playing Animal Crossing, now on her phone. Some days I regret buying that game...

I remember watching his older video about the GameCube and hoping he’d basically do a “remake” of that video. And man, did he deliver
  • @jteneb
I’m pretty sure Nintendo was so proud of their water graphics quality that they made it the thing for this generation. Starting with project dolphin, wave race at launch, Mario sunshine, Zelda wind waker

Was the Gamecube really named after a shape? I never knew that. What shape was it named after? This totally changes my perspective on Nintendo's first foray into the Gamecube market.
  • @Over_Toasted
I really really miss when the GameCube was new. It was such an interesting time. Companies started perfecting 3D games and we saw some of the most creative games back then
  • @JustSomeMemes
When I was a kid, I thought the gamecube was amazing and everyone loved it. I was shocked when I found out it didnt sell well.

This script was SO well written and executed, I genuinely enjoyed it, and laughed. You have gotten very good at what you do Scott, congrats on your success.

Really Luigi’s Manson was one of my favourite gamecube games. On launch I bought a flight stick to play route squadron in, still one of my favourite game series
  • @CGYT_Gaming
I just love the idea of the Nintendo team in 2000 saying “F*** it, the kids love shapes”
  • @DoNotPassGO
"It still wasn't the Zelda that everyone wanted. That came at the end of the GameCube's life." Madden 08 is the Zelda game I've always wanted. How did you know?
  • 14:53 Can we all appreciate how Scott has up to the correct date marked on the calendar when it comes to when this video was published? Like, that either takes good estimation of workflow, good planning, or some luck.
  • 11:23 "Dreamcast....." 😅 I hope Scott dedicates a whole episode to the Dreamcast someday, I'd love to hear what he thinks about it after spending some time with i
  • @FixedKarma
Man, for a console I never used even once I sure am enjoying this hour long retrospective on someone else's childhood memories!
  • @HypeShot-27
I would love to have seen Scott and his friends clear off 2/3 of his game shelf for an opening bit that lasted .5 seconds.
  • Scott is literally the only person who can talk about the funny Nintendo square for A WHOLE HOUR.
  • The early 2000s were an insane time for video games. So much quality stuff came out in such a short time frame and almost none of it feels dated, unlike the previous generation. I need to go back and try it all. Thank goodness for ports.
