"the worst way to stack silver is high premium silver" Me sitting there with my Darth Vader coins: 😬😬
  • I bought silver shot to reload my shotgun shells with. This way, I've got vampire ammo.
  • I got a huge silver spoon/silverware set from a thrift shop. They didn’t check that it was silver so I got it for 20$ 12spoons 12forks 8knives and 12small spoons.

You literally just stopped me from making a beginner mistake. Saved me at least 40 bucks. Thank you
  • I am both a stacker and a silversmith. My 3 best are 1. Generic rounds. The cheaper the better. 2. Junk silver. 3. Sterling. I can resell the sterling, repair it and sell it, take part of it to incorporate in other jewelry and melt the rest. With the rounds, I can stack them, I can melt them down and add copper to turn them to sterling. And when I melt them down, with or without copper, I will turn them to shot for casting. The only thing I completely agree on is the high premium stuff. And to me, this will include silver eagles, other coins or rounds with a high premium. My goal is to get as close to spot as possible for my silversmithing needs. I still have a decent stack that includes silver eagles, maple leaves, kangaroos, and others. But that is not my priority. I love collecting junk silver. And try to always get it at $12 face. Unless silver really jumps, $12 is my personal limit unless it is something I want for my collection. I can lose out to others by buying at where I do, and I am ok with that. I stack on a budget.

Who else is here investing in silver because they know the economy is gonna collapse from all this "free money" being pumped into the market?

I was just at a card convention and came across two gentlemen selling silver. This was my first time buying. After chatting I asked the guy which one he would buy to start his collection and he straight up told me “whichever has the lowest premium”. I respect the fact he didn’t try to take advantage of me and actually gave me some good advice as well as a beautiful 2012 1oz Silver Moose coin from the Canadian Wildlife series.

Just started stacking silver and this channel is very helpful. I’m doing it mainly as a hedge against the very obvious coming collapse of the dollar. Thank you!
  • I stack silver eagles, generic rounds, constitutional silver, and 10 oz bars. But I also buy a lot of high premium silver, but I consider that more of a collectible.

Canadian maple leaf coins are 99.99% pure silver. They go through one additional refinement process. The down side to them is that they tend to tarnish more easily if left unsealed.

I used to stack silver I had to sell out years ago I want to start again for my granddaughters I hope everyone does this for the future generations!
  • I love gold and silver but I stack for the long term. I don't plan to sell unless I absolutely have to.
  • @danmax7456
Instead of calling it "JUNK SILVER" why not call it HISTORICAL silver. After all, it shows when it was made, & has tested the hands of time !
  • Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

I knew a dealer who resorted to silver shot at some point last summer because it was simply the last thing available after allocation of everything else for about a month period. and he dealt with some of the biggest national dealers out of dallas. It wasn't his first choice, but in the the frenzy when silver went up like $6 in a few days, people weren't thinking about the sell back price.
  • @philsparks3125
Also be aware that most of these well recognized coins are being "counter-fitted" by many countries, and have been for some time! So verify your source, or buyer beware!
  • @bobolson7610
I believe the best silver for stacking consists of 1 oz silver Eagles, Maple Leafs, Brittanias and generic rounds like Sunshine Mint, as well as some 10 oz generic silver bars. There are some 7-10 oz generic rounds that are just above spot like replica JFK halfs or Walking Liberty halfs that are pretty nice too.
  • @sawyer3119
That makes alot of sense. I just started stacking, have around 50oz silver and 10g Gold. I have been avoiding generic but now that you put it that way im stoked I can start paying a lil less to stack abit more. 🙏
