Make 1 Easy Circle Skirt, Wear in 8 Different Ways!❤️As pants, dress, vest

Hi, professional tailor here: this is a quick tip. When you make a half circle (like this), full circle or ANY kind of "flaring" skirt, make the entire thing, but hold off on the hem for 24 hours. Instead, hang the unhemmed skirt like you normally would from the waistband and let the fabric stretch. The weight of the fabric can stretch along the bias (the diagonal of the weave) and cause the hemlime to warp, so your hem will be a squiggly, wavy line instead of clean and straight. (This does, of course, depend on your fabric. Tight weaves like a medium denim or poplin cotton are less likely. Loose weaves, like satin or chiffon, can stretch A LOT!!! Like, a 5-10cm difference!!!!) Let it stretch 24 hours, re-even it to the shortest point and hem it then!!!

THIS is a versatile piece of clothing that you can wear on a cruise...each night of dinning you could wear it differently and just have extra accessories to change it up..like it...would need to make that waistband a bit bigger for those of us with larger waists...but it's nice and simple...

После того, как юбка сшита, её равномерно подвешивают на верёвку, как белье на про сушку. Равномерно. После того, как она повисит так какое то время, равняют низ. А то без такой процедуры юбка - клеш становится нервная очень быстро. Какой то край обязательно про виснет внизу. Читала, что надо ещё что-то по низу типо отяжеления цеплять по низу юбки, но мы шили такие юбки без отяжеления, но с подвешиванием. И ни одна юбка за время носки не изменила свой внешний вид - низ нигде не провисал. Это моё наблюдение и мой опыт! Даже в этой юбке видно, что низ в некоторых местах провисает и ощущение, что юбка неровная. Приглядитесь! Желаю удачи и красивых качественно сшитых вещей!!!

Tip to make this easier: fold your fabric either into a triangle, in half or into a 1/4 (fold twice) Pin the fabric to your carpet, pin your measuring tape to your carpet on the fabric and use it like a compass to draw with a half or quarter circle at the waist line and hem line while holding you calk against the tape and you get a perfect line. Much faster.

I love this! I took @6 weeks of Home Economics in high school (1980's) and one of the things we learned to make was a reverse able wrap skirt. I loved it so much, I wore it under my graduation gown 4 years later.

finally got everything I need to handsew this. I also found a cute glitter tulle and I think I'm going to try a reversable style Feeling ambitious :) So glad I found this pattern and found a pattern to ease me back into sewing more than pillows. Thank you!
