the respect between these characters is amazing. Half the reason why John doesn't die is due to people respecting him enough to not kill him off and plot armor.
  • I believe John is made to look weak and slow on purpose, because he is not a 100% atm, ffs he's been on the run for how long? Sleep deprivation, not eating properly and being out the game for so long without his training regiment all hindered him so I know when I see number 4 tomorrow he will be baba yaga at full potential
  • 3:28 I LOVE these little nonverbal dialogue bits in the John Wick movies. John: I took your sword. I took your leg. This fight's over. Zero: I still have this fist. John: Fine then.

I love how this whole franchise takes place within a week or so
  • Tired of people coming to these clips to talk about how badly John is fighting here. For context John has been fighting and running this entire movie since he's ex-communicano. And you know what else? the timeline of John Wick movies is like so: John Wick 1- one week later- John Wick 2- Immediately after- John Wick3 Meaning the dude has been fighting and running around for two whole movies. He doesn't get any time to heal or rest. Its just non stop. He also had to take on two very skilled fighters just before this fight. It's a bit insane to see that folks refuse to acknowledge this. After this fricken fight, he ends up battling heavily armed soldiers of the high table with his friend Wilson. Needless to say, John totally deserves the right to be tired.

Dude literally had John Wick beat twice in 30 seconds but got overconfident.

When John showed him the sword at 3:28, that was a sign of respect for mercy but he didn't want any of that.
  • I love the focus on him not just trying to block the hand with the sword but to control it since despite everything else that the bad guy can do with him with his other limbs, the hand with the sword is obviously the most deadly
  • They both get opportunities to kill each other while the other was down, but none takes it. Maybe because they respect each other ? If that's what the film portrays, not stabbing in the back, fighting head on.

Love the way John always hits the end of the blade into their chest whenever they are having a strength match over a knife 😎
  • John wick shows no matter how skilled or strong you are you can still get overwhelmed in a fight

Remember, though, if you ever find yourself in a sword fight for whatever reason, reverse grip has absolutely no tactical advantage and puts you in a worse off position than in foregrip. More movement and awkward power is needed to get any hits in, and you've left your front completely undefended
  • You can tell Wick doesn't view this man as a threat Because he spends a majority of the fight asserting dominance by kicking his ass with the inferior reverse grip

I feel like there are many times John wick would’ve been killed but he either gets saved or his opponents don’t kill him when they have the chance out of wanting a longer fight
  • Imagine your having a nice leisure night in your apartment across the building in the background. Got a beer in hand ready to watch some tv and you look out your window seeing two assassins fighting. Immediately turn the tv off, grab some pop corn and get some binoculars and enjoy the show.
  • Besides John losing in the beginning, I think they show him losing for one to show how strong his opponent is and two, to show Johns ability to adapt and read his opponents. It’s almost happened is all his movies really

When your enemy spares you 3x in the beginning only to get himself killed in the end..
