    I tried laser treatment and it didnโ€™t work for me so I got it permanently removed recently. Do I still need to treat the nail bed skin to kill any remaining fungus? I donโ€™t want it in my environment to possibly infect other nails. If yes, how and for how long?

    This is so disheartening. The toe next to the big toe has this problem. I've battled this topically for 2 years with no success. My podiatrist said the nail could be removed. That thought terrifies me. I'm diabetic and don't want to end up losing a foot from a wound that won't heal.
