Mountains To Climb - Gaining Power To Overcome Challenges In Life

Published 2013-02-20
www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages - Finding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will help us have the power to endure and overcome challenges in life.

""Many of you are now passing through physical, mental, and emotional trials that could cause you to cry out, 'When I've tried all my life to be good, why has this happened to me?' Now I wish to encourage those who in the midst of hard trials who feel their faith may be fading under the onslaught of troubles. There seems to me no better answer to the question of why trials come, and what we are to do, than the words of the Lord Himself, who passed through trials for us more terrible than we can imagine. You may have seen the need for that foundation as I have, at the bedside of someone ready to give up the fight to endure to the end. If the foundation of faith is not embedded in our hearts, the power to endure will crumble. [Mother yelling to her son]

Moroni, the son of Mormon in the Book of Mormon told us how. He teaches the simple and sweet truth that acting on even a twig of faith allows God to grow it. That particle of faith -most precious- which you should protect, and use to whatever extent you can, is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You and I have faith, that the way to rise through and above trials, is to believe that there is a Balm in Gilead, and that the Lord has promised, 'I will not forsake thee. 'Curing does not come automatically through the passage of time, but it does take time. Getting older does not do it alone, it is serving God and others persistently with full heart and soul that turns testimony of truth into unbreakable spiritual strength. If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest, as well as the easiest of times in life can be a blessing. In all conditions all we can choose the right with the guidance of the spirit. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ shape and guide our lives if we choose it. We never need to feel that we are alone or unloved in the Lord's service because we never are. We can feel the love of God. The Savior has promised angels are on our left and on our right to bear us up, and He always keeps His word. His love is unfailing I so testify, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.""

I am not a Mormon, nor do I go to any church. But I love the values that Mormons have. Thank you for this video. I will watch another!

I'm a believer in the Universe and a higher power and I am not Mormon, but this gave me immense goosebumps that touched my heart and I cried very happy tears. Our souls connect all of us. I felt it right now. Thanks, Shay.

I am so grateful for this video, I watch it every day ! I remember when my mom passed away when I was just 10 years old and struggled through life which led me into a 23 year addiction which was lead to me being homeless! When I got clean and sober and started praying and reading the scriptures coming back to the church! I’m so grateful for my loving savior Jesus Christ for lifting me up to feel his love through my trials that I never had to walk them alone! He has walked through it every step of the way! I love the gospel so much and want to testify that the church is true and that Jesus Christ lives I bare my witness that he walks and never will leave us alone! Gods love is infinite and eternal and I’m so grateful for that’s in the name of Jesus Christ amen

This message came at the right time for me. I clicked on this video, expecting another cute little clip that I've seen a lot of times on this channel. Boy was I wrong. I've been so depressed these past few weeks, I've even stopped going to church. I felt useless and like I'd never amount to anything. I haven't read my scriptures in months. I cried out to God, asking Him to help me. Then my missionaries left a card at my door. He hears and answers our prayers. He truly does care for us. Amen.

I love you my Mormon Christian brothers and sisters peace from Iraqi Christian
  • I told my wife tonight that this was the video that finally made me turn my heart to the Gospel. It was the turning point in my life, and the first talk I looked for and listened to from beginning to end. That was 10 years ago - I’m now a returned missionary, sealed to my Sweetheart in the temple, and have two beautiful children. There truly is a Balm in Gilead, we just have to accept Him. ♥️

It was a very good message, I may not believe in the Mormon faith or in the Mormon bible but it does help give hope to people and I feel that the Mormons out off all the Christians show it the best, I just wish all Christians wether they are Baptist, Methodist or what ever "type of Christian that they are, will show the love of Christ in everything they do not just if people are looking, and I know I need to work on it, everyone needs to try and be like Jesus more everyday
  • I'm going through a hard time right now and non of my family understands, I pray that Jesus Christ helps me through this time and all others who are in need...

That scene where the Mother who was anxious to leave sees her son praying totally got me teary eyed. Thanks for sharing this video.

Not a Mormon or even particularly religious, and I found this incredibly uplifting. Fantastic message. The world is great.

I am not a mormon but this is extremely inspiring!
  • The past couple of months have been very hard on me and my mom that have caused me to be mentally challenged to the point I decided I wanted to cut and possibly take my life. My dad has been abusing drugs since January, and my dad has also cheated on my mom with several women. I began to realize that I have slowly lost my faith in Jesus Christ and that I’m mad at everything to the point I don’t wanna go anywhere. But tonight watching this video changed me in a way that has made me feel relieved and calm. So thank you, mormon channel.

Put your problems in the hand of the LORD. Your problem may not disappear but the LORD will soften and make your problem easier to live with.

Each Sunday, our boys earn time for playing games by reading their scriptures, writing in their journals, or preparing and sharing a spiritual message with the family. This video was shared with the family by our 8 year old. The message is so beautiful, I started to cry.
