Rolling blackouts on the Big Island may continue due to ongoing energy shortfall

A power generation shortfall led to rolling blackouts enacted by Hawaiian Electric Sunday evening on the Big Island. HECO is now urging residents and businesses to continue to conserve power. Customers are standing by to find out if those power outages will return.

    For years people are protested the development of power infrastructure, I guess things are going to come full circle now

    It's freezing, but there are 55 mph winds at Mauna Kea if they need wind for energy. Is the wind ever calm there? I know it howls at the foot of the mountain by the highway.
