I'm a truck driver & and it's an old truckers remedy for cleaning the bugs off our windshields. I use 50/50 peroxide/water spray down my windshield let it set for a couple minutes then use the windshield cleaner with squeegee. All the bugs come right off without scubbing & it also helps prevent streaks on the glass.

Hey Melissa, I work at a vets office and know aaaaall about getting blood stains out of fabric (after surgeries, i swear). I've learned to soak a large blood stain in COLD water as soon as possible to rinse away as many cells as you can - hot water can "cook" the blood onto the fabric so ONLY USE COLD. Then go in with the peroxide and let it sit as you stated. Rinse with cold water again and repeat until the stain is gone/almost gone, then launder normally. Adding the cold water rinse works almost every time, the main reason I see stains setting is due to the use of hot water on a fresh stain. I hope this helps someone in need :) *edit: also avoid putting peroxide on a large amount of blood on white fabric. It can leave a brown stain. Rinse as much away as possible with cold water then use peroxide.

Perhaps you should also let viewers know that once the bottle is open, the hydrogen peroxide is only good for 6 months. Marking the expiry date of an open bottle on a self-adhesive label is a good way of knowing when to discard. Thanks for all the good H2O2 tips.
  • I use it to clean my stainless coffee mugs. Comes out clean every time!
  • I'm motivated to clean that toilet bowl, garbage bin and bathroom tile grout. Thank you for the great content!
  • These are my favorite kinds of videos!! Baking soda, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide are my favorite cleaning tools to learn about thanks to you!
  • This is brilliant and well researched. My brilliant doctor told us that we can use hydrogen peroxide instead of all those other toxic chemicals. Cleaning my make up brushes is a great idea. Thank you for this.
  • 45 years ago, I had a friend whose dentist, who was 80 years old, to soak her toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide. Then, I became a nurse and learned that hydrogen peroxide is used to clean and disinfect wounds if various sorts but only in a 50% with water, or normal saline). Then rinsing is very important. With those two bits of information, I started storing my toothbrush in a 50% dilution of water and hydrogen peroxide. I also started pouring peroxide over dental floss before I used it. It keeps my toothbrush disinfected, helps whiten my teeth, and keeps gums healthy. For years and years, when I've had my teeth cleaned, I've always been told how well I keep my teeth clean. Now I use undiluted peroxide to soak my toothbrush in.
  • I cleaned my porcelain tiles with castile soap and peroxide hot water and let me tell you , i thought i had dark grey grout ... nope i got nearly light grey grout i cant tell you how great this worked

I have cats. Naturally, they will occasionally barf on one of my off-white area rugs and rarely on the dark bedroom carpeting. I have found that hydrogen peroxide does a great job in cleaning the stains after I pick up the barf or hair ball. I’ve always used it for disinfecting my toothbrushes, and I use it on my cutting boards. I also will a capful to my waterpik flosser to not only keep the tube clean, but it does a great job in keeping gums healthy. At almost 69, I still have all of my teeth!

during the first pandemic lockdown I was washing my reusable bags after every grocery shop. Now I haven't done it in at least 3 months. I guess I should get back to at least a monthly clean of those. Melissa, I love all your tips and your channel. You are a Godsend. Thank you. πŸ™πŸ»
  • My dentist has me put a capful of HP in my water pick (fill the rest with water) to help with gingivitis

I use it in my water for cleaning my dentures, especially when sick. I also use it as a rinse when I have sores in my mouth. I found out that its a great antifungal for getting rid of mold in the bathroom. It fizzes up just like when it touches blood. When it stops fizzing the mold is gone. Amazing stuff.

Works great at whitening menstrual cups and removing stains from reusable pads too. I also use it for mildew spots on the corners of my shower!
  • I always lower the lid before I flush, I am pretty sure that is why there is a lid!😊
  • I actually found some hydrogen peroxide at a store that came with a spray nozzle already. I was so excited when I found it. .lol

Brilliant suggestions. I have experienced success with unlocking set in stains by making a paste with Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda. I put the paste on the stained fabric and pour a little bit more Hydrogen Peroxide on it to let the blend soak in. I gently rub the paste into the fabric and let it sit for 30 minutes or even much longer rolled up. Then I wash in the laundry with detergent. Be careful that the fabric color won't fade from this treatment in advance. Otherwise, there will be faded areas where the paste is applied. Works great on linen tablecloths or napkins with very old wine or food stains on them. The results have been surprisingly great on stains that were more than decades old in some old tablecloths.
