END OF BEGINNING LYRICS:
Just one more tear to cry
One teardrop from my eye
You better save it for
The middle of the night
When things aren’t black and white
Enter, Troubadour:
“Remember 24?”

And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning

This song has started now
And you're just finding out
Now isn’t that a laugh?
A major sacrifice but clueless at the time
Enter, Caroline:
“Just trust me you’ll be fine”

And when I’m back in Chicago I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man
You take the man out of the

And when I’m back in Chicago, I feel it
Another version of me, I was in it
I wave goodbye to the end of beginning
Goodbye
Goodbye

This song feels like the end of summer. Idk how to describe it but that’s what it feels like. You can play this as the closing song of the final scene of a teen movie/show set during summer and it’ll play perfectly

lowkey the best thing about tiktok is they introduce me to songs like this
  • I'm 56, grew up here and still live here (Chicago, north side). This song gives me a pit in my stomach and such a sense of longing and nostalgia. I love it so much. A soundtrack to my adult life, as I look back on times I did not know I would miss. Thank you for giving us such a deep connection to.a song ❣️

On my last day of high school, this song came on the radio on the way to get some shake shack for dinner. It was already a day that I couldn't stop crying on. I remember trying to hold back my tears on the drive home, and when I got inside the house, I had a crying breakdown that lasted like 2 hours. All the photos I took that day had watery eyes that were red about at 9 pm because of all my obnoxious crying.

My city, unfortunately, was destroyed by war and I may never return to the places where I grew up, but it still exists in my memories

There is always music, even if at the beginning you don't expect much, it gives you a feeling of nostalgia, platonic love and memories later and it is very addictive.
