The Al Jazeera reporter died after being shot in the head while covering a raid by Israeli forces on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli police charged into her funeral procession in Jerusalem, where thousands of people had gathered to mourn her. Mourners and pallbearers were beaten with batons, stun grenades were fired and at one point the casket was almost dropped to the ground.
The United States was among countries and organisations that condemned the actions of Israel’s security forces.
Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Tom Bateman in Jerusalem.

The fact that BBC still refuses to say that she was shot by Israeli soldiers is insane.
-
How the hell does the policemen feel that it was necessary to beat the pallbearers that were carrying the coffin and posed no threat whatsoever? That is just evil.
-
She was assassinated and the disregard from the Israeli police is disgusting.
-
did people forget about this ? and act as if israel is actually a good guy in the ongoing genocide
-
Just how does Israel get away with such actions without any consequences? It's so blatantly unjust!
-
Shameful that we can't respect others even in death. What a world we live in
-
Muslims and Christians in Palestine are one people fighting for their freedom and defending their land, they all come together to say goodbye to their beautiful and brave girl😢😢
-
This is one of the most vile scenes I've seen. Israel has no regard for the living nor the dead. Hitting pallbearers that posed no threat. It's disgusting.
-
It amazes me that no one talks about the barbarism of the Israeli’s towards the Palestinians.
-
Don't care what anyone says, that was just downright evil and disrespectful. Imagine the family watching that coffin bounce about like that. Shameful.
-
When they dont see you as human. This happens.
-
I’ve never seen something more disgraceful. Why the hell were IDF beating up the pall bearers causing them to nearly drop the casket…just completely shameful.
-
All I can say is disgusting, doesn’t matter who you support just respect people, who deserve respect. She dedicated her life to informing people on world events and even after her death gets treated like this. Some people just never learn
-
Good to see that you finally used the word "attack" instead of clash.
-
She was a great woman of her time...much respect dear lady😓
-
I was rather neutral when it came to politics in Palestine/Israel, but when I see something disgraceful like that, I question myself whether I should speak out for a position and then support Palestinian with all my heart and soul. It is just rude inhumane and evil, how can people who endured so much suffering in WW2 do something like that to others, these officials and government should be ashamed

It's nice that BBC actually covered this instead of saying it's a clash. But these footages are from the upper angle. In Aljazeera you can see how brutal those police were since they had more close up videos which is horrifying.
-
The police hitting the pallbearers, what are they trying to accomplish here??? I'm really confused and appalled.
-
The soldiers hitting the pallbearers to the point that they almost dropped the coffin is disgusting and disrespectful and to think that we always pray for Israel in our Church.
-
This is disgraceful regardless of what side you are on. Every question as to who did this vanished when you see how much hate they have for a person that is not even alive anymore.
