  • that's a great story - although I am amazed the serpent let him get that far to trial, as he usually plays dirty pool as they say. Thanks for sharing it.
  • “So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh — 13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’" Romans 8

  • Just me: Remember the Old TV quiz shows of the 1950s and '60s? Well, I'd love to imagine Solomon as one contestant, and Adam as the other with Jesus being the MC in charge of asking the questions. I can see Solomon smiling yes I know that one, but can you also imagine Adam thinking to himself, if he's so smart, doesn't he know who actually gave a name to what he claims to know. Yet without pride, Jesus smiles, here you two are arguing over the same cue cards I gave you? One was before the other, but basically the same info. Just me.

For years I wondered, If Solomon had so much wisdom, why did he do so many awful things in his later years? Answer: He stopped asking for wisdom. We're all leaky vessels. We need to abide in the vine and continually draw wisdom and all other needs from Jesus' limitless resources.
