I can't even remember how the rabbit trail lead me to this performance, but I have listened to it about 10 times over the last couple of weeks, and binged on everything else they have up here on youtube. I think your roots with the NEC is a reason this song and others come off so well. I've narrowed it down to this impression I get; in all your songs, each of you gets a kick out of every single note - having fun the whole way thru. Very upbeat... Hope to see you live sometime, soon.

I loved this, it feels like a bunch of misfits got together from marching band and got like the second most popular girl in school to be their lead singer and they just do cool covers in their mom's garage
-
Wow, just incredible musicianship by all !! The latin arrangement, the harmonies, virtuoso-level trumpet, Bridget's high notes, Rachel's lead vocals, the dress-up, and so much fun 😃

When it comes to covers, my usual attitude is "Be original or be quiet". But I'll make an exception for this. This is a BRILLIANT rendition of A-ha's "Take On Me". Excellent work that actually gave me goosebumps! Thank you, Lake Street Dive. And thank you, The A.V. Club, for sharing it with us.

those Pants are stealing the spotlight

Jesus, think what this trumpeter could do sober.
-
I like the Trumpeter's style. Just the right amount of sloppiness.
-
Made 71 year olds day. Locked up no where to go. Loved band and singer. You do touch people and that’s what it’s about.
-
I thought the trumpeter was going to have a stroke.
-
They knew the trumpet player was gonna be weird and just went with it. That's charming in a way.

The little salsa grind at 3:41 is simply magical.
-
One hell of a rhythm section with your voice singing an unbelievable counterpoint to it. My socks shot off my feet, I have to fix the hole in my wall that they went through. Rock solid playing. Thank you !!!

LSD is about the most courageous thing going in music. To lay it out so bare for every note to be heard. Love everything they do.
-
This feels like something me and my wife enjoyed while on vacation in Cuba. Local good music covering great songs with personal style and elegance
-
Trumpet guy's like, "There's a keyboard RIGHT HERE BEHIND ME?!?!?"
-
The lead singer's voice is really something! Those lows go so well and smooth! Love this version
-
That lead singer is super cool. She really owns the stage.
-
trumpeting that part must NOT have been easy lol

Even after watching this video dozens of times, it's still my favorite Lake Street Dive song.

I saw this song and I couldn't stop playing it. I must have watched this video twenty times. And then I watched twenty more of your videos. Wow. I had to look up the words, figure out the chords and learn how to sing and play it.. Thanks so much. Lake Street Dive is so cool, and this jazzy take on this amazing song is one of the best I've heard.
