In this match I played a more conservative style while the enemy Kiriko went mostly DPS. I explain it a lot further after 6:42

Didn’t really see this as heal botting, it’s just textbook support play. Provided the team with critical heals while pushing the offensive when openings appeared.

Yes, that is why I play Kiri more "passive" but shooting when it is necessary to confirm kills. If my dps are doing nothing I sometimes swap to Bap. I think it is a good option to deal more damage to the team consistently.

I’m so glad to see other top Kiriko players having a similar experience to me trying to hit shots. Having her as projectile makes duels so messy

If the enemy team agreed to them DPSing as a strategy then fine, otherwise they're also putting a lot more pressure on the other support to sustain the rest of the team. If they're doing this just to do it they should be in QP or Arcade modes.

DPSing as Kiriko is more useful if you are good, mechanically, especially in low ranks since your team needs help in all aspects.

Enabling hog to create space and push cart is much better than the random picks that get rezed anyway.

when he said 'healbotting' i thought he's going full right click only (heal), I was wrong. This look like a healthy mix between the two playstyles for me.

This is how I usually tend to play with her, "healbot" to get Fox first before the other team and doing DPS where it makes sense and trying not to tunnel vision it.

The other support has to take some responsibility for not adjusting though

This really doesn't seem to be an issue of "you healbotted and they DPS'd" at all to me Note how at 6:58 when you start talking about "not being a fan of this playstyle", your damage numbers aren't that far apart, you have similar elims, and their Kiriko's healing is similar to their Lucio's. She's definitely not "DPS kiriko" - your team bursted them down more often, and generally their 2nd support was doing enough healing as well, which creates less opportunity for their Kiriko to do healing. Compared to your team, where Mercy was doing more pocketing/damage boosting, creating much more need/opportunity for you to do Kiriko heals. All in all it feels more like confirmation bias and an overall team diff rather than support diff to make a point of.

Its situational, i had game today when we were pushed to spawn on new queen street and i went into their backline to kill mercy and ana and tp-ed back to our rein, then i switched to healing and we won the game after couple of fights. Best example is Mercy, you either win games by keeping alive that good dps who destroys enemy team or do nothing because people think being pocketed = invincible so they just feed enemies ult all day long and you are forced to switch to Ana or Lucio to provide more value...
