An immobile center should never be considered for a defensive player of the year just because you block shots at the rim. It’s always laughable to see these stiffs get the award. Wings who take on the best offensive players should be considered more. Marcus Smart, Tony Allen, etc

Pretty easy to understand why Rudy is not playing. The coach tried Rudy as 5 and Wemby as 4 during all the preparation and pool matches and it was pretty terrible (If the Spurs have shown something this season it's that Wemby is way better as a 5) so he had to make a choice. The choice is obvious you start Wemby (better defensively and offensively than Rudy). Could he try Rudy as 4? No, cause Wemby needs a 4 that is physical and play bully ball to protect him and help him keep up to the physicality of FIBA rules. That why Yabusele is starting and Rudy is benched. Then when Victor goes out he plays Lessort (that's when Rudy could get angry cause he is not 2nd behind Wemby but third) so why? Again easy to understand if you watched France's matches: Lessort is doing great even if Americans don't know him he is a Euroleague champ this year and one of the best number 5 in Europe he is "small" but he is a physical beast and he can play 4 with Wemby on some rotation doing the same thing that Yabusele do (meaning being physical in the paint to protect Wemby). Rudy wont ever be a starter for France (except if Wemby gets hurt) is time is over
