I am a proud former high-school classmate of Vladimir Kara-Murza’s (class of 2000; somewhere in northwest London), and I recall distinctly he was then already an expert in Russian politics, history, and literature, in addition to being an incredibly effective speaker. His deep love for Russia was palpable. I also remember chatting casually with him about Putin's inauguration, though unlike him I failed to grasp the significance of the event. A few years ago I learnt by chance that he had narrowly escaped death twice for his political activities. There's no doubt in my mind that, if there's one man who can free Russia from the shackles of totalitarianism, it's Vladimir Kara-Murza -- or Vlad, as we used to call him.
  • This is a very courageous man who truly loves Russia and democracy and who loves them so much he is prepared to place his life on the line repeatedly for them. He is as courageous as any soldier on the battlefield. Vladimir Kara-Murza is a moral soldier. If he dies I shall remember his name and his love for his country and democracy. His outstanding bravery.
  • Incredible. The whole series. I'm sorry I have just found this, especially since I come from Russia myself and the speakers here are actually the people who's names I've known for a long time, but never really heard them speak in such a profound and continuous speech. Which is what I'm especially grateful for.

Quite a guy. Bright, remarkably well informed and articulate. Terrific interview.
  • Going through the whole series (Sadly after Russia’s invasion of 🇺🇦). This is one of the best interviews of them all.

Very touching especially when he speaks about his late friend Boris Nemtsov. Thank you Vladimir Kara-Murza!
  • Vladimir Kara-Murza is by far the most informative and enjoyable interview I have listened to in the Putin Files. I learned so much from hearing his story. God bless him.

His voice and contributions to the world are heroic. We need more people like him to represent the citizens of the earth. Corrupt Power wants him silenced and I fear for his life. When I learned he was arrested in Moscow on Monday, April 11, 2022 I gasped. I pray for his survival.

This interview is absolutely riveting. I know it was six years ago now, but thank you so much Frontline for doing this. It remains more relevant than ever all these years later. I wish Mr. Kara-Murza the best in what is a terrible situation for him right now. I hope he doesn't end up like Navalny.

Watching this today, two weeks and one day from Vladimir Kara-Murza’s arrest in Putin’s crime state, April 11, 2022, is chilling. The bravery and eloquence of this historian turned opposition politician is remarkable. Through this video, it is as if he speaks to us from his prison cell.

What an absolutely wonderful man. His historical knowledge is absolutely phenomenal. Such a brave and determined man. He truly cares deeply about the Russian people who have been lied to and brainwashed into believing only one source of corrupt information. Such a sad situation. Excellent interview. One I shall never forget and definitely watch again. May this amazing man remain safe and continue his fight for the Russian people
  • This was by far the best interview in the series “Putin Files”. 👍

The whole series is superb and this one is Top class and unmissable.
  • He is so fluent in English speaking 😍 i like the way he brings information! Let he be freed and be the leader of the country! Very nice person, i admire his nature, personality character and kind heart🙏

Vladimir was just arrested by Russian authorities yesterday :/ I hope he turns out okay. He is extremely brave to question authority in a country with such a repressive government.. ❤️❤️

Watching this today, this man’s words are almost eerie. The vision of Russians standing their ground and turning the tanks away. Now we see people in Ukraine doing the same. Ordinary people on both sides, at different time, not armed forces, wanting freedom and to have their voices heard. Sometimes, but not often, they get their wish....
  • It is a privilege to listen to a heroic human rights warrior, who so eloquently and precisely outlines the facts for us all to understand the workings of what may go down as one of the most unethical regimes in the world. May he and all fellow conscience prisoners be freed💜

What an incredible man. Could listen to him for days on end. A living hero.

This Vladimir, what a set of cajones he has! Also, he is brilliant and has such clarity. The other Vladimir...not so much.
