Wow so cool that Julian Cassablankis is showing his dad his own album.
-
The guitars in “The Adults Are Talking” going back and forth is almost like the adults are talking
-
Kevin deserves an Oscar for this performance. Almost believed this is his first time hearing his sons album.
-
just imagine having a quality time like that with your father
-
there is something so satisfying about watching someone listen to something you've heard thousands of times. makes you feel like ur listening to it for the first time all over again in a way im obsessed with this series. it's also cool his dad clearly has a musical background
-
Strokes inspired The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Editors, Arctic Monkeys and a lot of other stuff, they're fully alive and creating new things now but you can't never forget how long they've been around.
-
“He’s got some deep throat just like you, eh?” Had me laughing just as hard lmao
-
What makes the strokes great is that they kept their original sound while still adjusting to the new instrumentals and sounds coming out
-
Ode to the Mets has to be one of their best songs
-
Wonder what he would think of your other band The Voidz!
-
Ode to the Mets is honestly one of their best songs. And that says so much because the strokes are so good.
-
selfless is my favorite. it holds such a special place in my heart. just the intro makes me cry.
-
it's funny he compared them to The Killers. When The Strokes first released "Is This It?", Brandon Flowers of the Killers heard it, scrapped their debut and rewrote it because he was so inspired by them.
-
If Connor hasn’t heard some of the stuff Kevin is talking about they should do a “Son reacts to” series
-
Just to clarify: Billy Idol was given a writing credit for Bad Decisions. So, the band acknowledged their influence, it was intentional
-
My favorite thing about The Strokes is how their 2 guitars sound like they are fighting with each other but the fight is choreographed so that it sounds like a beautiful dance and you can hear this on all of their albums. Like sometimes the guitars sound like opposing forces but other times they work together and both variations work so well
-
Dad only likes this album just because his son made it, what a supportive Dad
-
Julian actually used to lock himself in his room for hours hearing The Cars, don't ask me how i know that, biggest fan. Your dad knows his stuff

Why Are Sundays So Depressing? Is one of those songs that just gets better as it goes on and it sounds just as fresh as it did the first time I heard it. The outro might just be the best music I’ve ever heard in my life, it’s just the most catchy, perfect melody and instrumentation imaginable. Whole album is a home run for The Strokes though, they really came back with a purpose on this record
