Depriving a kid of sugar but allowing them to just take coke, weed, alcohol, etc with sketchy adults.. just pure insanity
  • The fact she's not dead or in jail is a real testament to her strength of character. Now I wish she hadn't had to be that strong but she's still clearly a determined woman.
  • HOW on God’s green earth were her parents not arrested for extreme child neglect and abuse??? This is horrifying 😰

Drew is the definition of a cycle breaker. The fact she was raised by such a neglectful, self absorbed mother and she grew up to be such a loving, sympathetic, generous person is inspirational honestly. Rather than let herself become bitter she enjoys the little things and spreads happiness (without sweeping her hardships under the rug). This is why she’s one of my favorite celebrities. I wish more people in Hollywood and the world in general were like her

Dependent on alcohol at only 9? Damn. All adults around her, failed her.

"The higher I got, the happier I imagined myself, the more miserable I actually was." What a powerful quote.

Now the grown men who dated her as a child need to be charged with statutory r@pe and/or sx trafficking. The people who put her naked in movies and on magazine covers as a child need to be charged with CP. And her mother needs to be charged with neglect.
  • That Oprah interview is so infuriating to watch. Maybe it comes from having mental struggles, but hearing her ask, "How could you not love yourself? How could you not find yourself beautiful? Look at how famous you are! I struggled with my looks, but I got over it!" Like, OH MY GOD, SHUT UP. THESE ARE THE WORST THINGS TO SAY TO SOMEONE STRUGGLING.
  • She never talks about sexual abuse. But I can’t imagine no one taking advantage of her when she was a child.
  • @mikylasewell
Every single adult that passed her in her young years failed her. I don’t understand how she could be blamed for her addictions and depression. It is truely an amazing and mind-blowing story
  • @Browneyezish
I’m not understanding why NOBODY had the balls enough to say “ HEY This is not right for a child !!! Usher was also partying , drinking and having sex with adults at puff daddy house when he was twelve - it’s called grooming and child molestation
  • @asha_vere
The photo of her as a child being inside a dog cage with the dog outside, is very telling to me. The fact that tabloids demonized her, A CHILD, for being addicted to substances...HOW TF DO THEY THINK A CHILD BECAME ADDICTED TO THAT?! Even as children, women who are victims are treated the way perpetrators should be.
  • @MiracleFound
Not a single bit of this is Drew's fault. All the adults around her were complicit and therefore guilty. She is utterly amazing for not only surviving, but thriving.
  • @SamizzleWren
hearing this story, it makes more sense why she is so compassionate and affectionate in her interviews. she wants to give people the comfort and love she didn't feel. what an amazing and beautiful soul she has 🌻💕

I can't imagine an adult wanting to drink & do drugs with a 9 year old without having some kind of nefarious reason for it. Definitely more to it than just "aw how funny/cute, the child is wasted".
  • @MJBABYPHAT
Her mom pimped her out simple as that. She never even cared how a 7 year old would get back home, partying and sleeping out at 7 is beyond distrubing. Drew talks about alcohol and drugs but nothing sexual. No way with Hollywood creeps she came out untouched...and a bf with a 22 year old at 13..She is better mentally than us for sure. Blessings on her and her kids.
  • @RachelHardy
Dang, Oprah asking her "how could you be so depressed when you're so beautiful and you have everything?" is... very insensitive
  • @sofiastylles
She was trafficked. This is such a tragedy. How was her mother & the other adults not thrown into jail?
