No movie, book, or tv show can recreate the strange fear the nazgul gave me when I was younger.

To think that this movie was made in 2002.. it’s just a masterpiece and the people who worked on it deserve much respect!

Imagine how pissed sauron would be if he found at how close that Nazgul was at 3:00 and just didn’t look under there

Fun fact: If not for the cloaks and armor they wear, Ringwraiths would be completely invisible. They actually used this to their advantage to sneak past osgiliath and travel to the shire without being detected by Gondor.
  • Small detail I noticed. At 2:30 when the Nazgul approaches he doesn't come from the road, rather he emerges from behind the tree. This detail really lends credence to the idea that the Nazgul are supernatural spectres that don't operate by the rules of the physical world.

The Uruk Hai and Nazgul really terrified my younger self...this was epic, the design, the character, everything

The Nazgûl are much scarier than any horror movie monster I’ve ever seen. A neither living nor dead creature who will never stop to rest until it catches and kills you.

One day when my kids are old enough I’m going to introduce them to this masterpiece

All these years and Samwise Gamgee is STILL the bestest best friend in ANY film. Legendary.

The filmmaking in The Fellowship Of The Ring is amazing! I mean, the whole trilogy is great, but I always thought this film has a great understanding of style, cuts, score and tone as a whole. It delivers deep emotions at their finest: horror, sadness, friendship and adventure!

I just love the way Aragon was just chilling in the corner.

For those who don't know. The nazguls are blind. But in the night they can percieve objects in front of them
  • 20+ years old and the CG still stands up. As good or better than many other films today.

I always loved the way that Rivendell was portrayed in these movies... it looked so beautiful and peaceful, the kind of place where you could just stay forever.
  • It always makes me laugh as Gandalf hands Frodo a freshly folded blanket and Frodo unfolds it before putting it in his backpack😂

Gandalf: "Stay off the road." And the one time they fall onto the road, there's a Nazgûl coming.
  • The Nazgûl are truly some of the most terrifying fictional characters, black servants of terrible evil once men corrupted and bent to the will of Sauron, they breathe and facilitate such potent evil and fear and the pure terror of an encounter with such a creature like that, the black speech they hiss and utter, the spectral movement and mannerisms and the horrific screaming as if the tortured souls of men still remain trapped by their own greed and weakness only able to achieve peace if the seemingly invincible evil they sold their soul to is defeated
