Remember: the Emperor could not slay Horus for his Imperium, his Space Marines, Custodes or even the Primarchs. But he could for one brave man amongst billions.

"Alright guys, let's just be nice and easy eh?" -Guardsman Simpkin
  • "No rhyme or reason, are you sure we aren´t chaos?" Spoken like someone who survived the deadliest battles only to be executed by their commissar

THE PLANET BROKE BEFORE THE GUARD DID Pretty close to what Rimmy and the XXTH are like, Rimmy dealing with the stupidity of the players, Arma 3 physics and his twitch chat on occasion

The Cadian XXth, The Nameless Legion is an Imperial Guard regiment given by Cadia to die in the service of the God-Emporer of Mankind. The original number of the Cadian XXth was once the 86th, but to know how they became known as the legendary XXth, one must first understand their history. The Nameless Legion, back then known as the Cadian 86th, first saw combat during the Fall of Cadia Secundus. The regiment was tasked with defending Kasr Kraf during the 13th Black Crusade. Their regiment took heavy casualties fighting alongside their brother regiment the 87th. Guardsmen fought tooth and nail and gave every inch of ground with a tidal wave of heretic blood. But the Emporer's children would find no victory. As the last line of bunkers within the kasr fell, the Cadian XXth as well as any remaining surviving guardsmen retreated from the city using large sewer system that led out of the city. But the fight was far from over, as even while retreating, the Cadian 86th fought off wave of heretics as they came charging through the tunnels, eager for more blood. At the same time, this fighting was happening, the highest alive ranking officer, Corporal Rimmy of the 86th, received orders to prepare for a mass evac of the planet. Fighting a bloody retreat, Corporal Rimmy and the Cadian 86th retreated from tunnels and into the plains surrounding the kasr eventually being rescued by the landing Valkyries. One would think that after witnessing the ending of their homeworld, the Cadian 86th would have some time to rest and gain more numbers, but the duty of the Guard is neverending. Combining the remanents of both of the regiments, the 86th was re-organized into the 87th and sent to immediately take care of a system that had fallen prey to Tau deception alongside other regiments that had also escaped Cadia. It would seem that the Cadian 87th were cursed. High casualties would be the cost of reclaiming the system, and again, the regiment would be reorganized by pooling the surviving guardsmen and combining multiple regiments. That is the story of the Cadian XXth. Time and time again, on every operation that the Cadian XXth were a part of, high casualties would follow leading to their service number being lost to time. It was during one engagement in which the now promoted Commander Rimmy remarked to his men that the enemy will never know their name, for it has been lost in Cadian Blood. They have become a Nameless Legion. His men took readily to the new nickname, painting XX on every piece of equipment. When asked about why they have done this the common answer was to honor those who came before and those who have been forgotten. When Commander Rimmy was asked this same question he replied, "I'll be honest mate, did not think that it would get out of hand this quickly. But now that this is apparently a thing, what kind of leader would I be if I didn't join my men?" With every engagement, the Cadian XXth grow stronger, always adding more to their ranks, never truly dying. For it is all well and good to die in the service of the Emporer, but it is true dedication that leads a man to live for him. For the duty of a guardsman ends only in death, but without death, duty never ends. It is through this that the true sacrifice of the Cadian XXth is found. To live in such times is to be one amongst billions. Life in the 41st millennium is a suffering that ends only in death. By living forever, the Cadian XXth's duty and suffering never ends. For in the grim darkness of the future, There is only War.

The theme of Rimmy taking down thunderbolts with a bolt pistol!
  • @ornu01
The theme song of every sergeant in the Guard.

Good to see it uploaded! Had kept this hidden from even my own unit for a very long time, glad that everyone else can enjoy it now too.

"laugh to keep the fear away" now imagine being the enemy overwelming and hearing the little ones laugh at you...
  • @caraunio2542
I love how everyone thinks it's a great song about the regular Imperial Guards in the battlefield when it was commisioned by Rimmy to portray the feeling of playing with his Arma3 clan (the Cadian XXth) It shows how well written is, amazing job as always StringStorm
  • @rhodes3983
The song about a commander who doubles as a living anti air gun, the most enthusiastic commissar in the entirety of the Astra Militarum and a bunch of soldiers who often do more damage to their own regiment than their enemies.
  • @old_sparky1365
This is so beautifully ironic and self aware, just what I imagine Imperial Guard Veterans are like. Taking all the terrible nonsense they need to endure with a bitter smile and a laugh. Good job, as always

Cadian Blood - Guardsman's life seen through the eyes of an Astartes. Cadian XXth - Guardsman's life seen through the eyes of a Guardsman.

"Are you sure we aren't Chaos?" Is likely the best line I've heard
  • @snottierfaun
As I'm a viewer of Rimmy only one thing comes to mind "ENEMIES OF THE IMPERIUM, YOU HAVE COME HERE TO DIE!"
