In 1985, David Arnold Brown masterminded a twisted plot to have his 14-year-old daughter, Cinnamon, kill his wife, Linda, to collect almost a million dollars in life insurance. Cinnamon confessed to fatally shooting her stepmother and was sentenced to 27 years to life in prison. She stood by her confession and remained silently loyal to her father for three years until she was persuaded to reveal the whole story. During a visit from her dad, Cinnamon wore a wire, and police recorded this conversation, which helped put David Brown away. In 1991, Cinnamon sat down with Oprah for an exclusive interview to tell her side of the story. For more on #oprahwinfreyshow, visit WatchOWN.tv/TOWS

He didn’t have the stomach to do it but he’s happy for his CHILD to do it?!

I know murder is never okay. I can’t believe they gave a 14 year old 27 years. She was clearly manipulated and taken advantage of. I remember when this happened. The father is so messed up, smh
  • This is absolutely awful! Any parent who has their child murder someone is not only a coward but a disgusting and manipulative monster!!!! What an absolute creep!!!!
  • @Kristrea
You could see the 14 year old girl is still in there. You see remorse and sadness.

That jail hairdresser deserves a prize

What’s disturbing is how he married the already very young step-mom’s TEENAGED SISTER immediately after the step-mom died and the authorities were just like “yeah that’s normal and okay”

Cinnamon was released after serving 8 years in prison. I am so glad she was able to move on and live marry.

She still sounds like a 14 year old child

Apparently after release, Cinnamon Brown later married a man in law enforcement, and her name changed to Cinnamon Andrade. She currently lives in Orange County, California. It looks like she's living a wonderful life and is happy👏

Cinnamon has the prettiest hair I have EVER seen.

My mother had met little Cinnamon at a summer camp the year before the crime, she always told me she was a super sweet girl and they had fun together while at the camp. One morning, she was sitting with my grandparents watching the news when the story popped up, seeing her name she told me made her lose it, she knew the girl had a good heart and to this day still blames the father for what he put her through. I was glad to know she was freed in 92’ and seems to be trying to get her life back together.

I’m so glad the authorities were convinced enough that dad was involved that they put a wire on her to record him. A lot of times, once someone is convicted of a crime, the door is shut and never reopened, regardless of what comes to light afterwards.

This was one of the best old lifetime movies ever!!!!!

Wonder if her feelings about her father have changed now. She seemed to still be under his spell a bit. Poor kiddo.
  • @SwedBaben
This really shows how they stop growing up the second they're in jail. She's still 14 frozen in time
  • @kt1pl2
I don't think Cinnamon should have had to spend all those years in jail. It really was her father's fault and she was a really young girl.
  • She sounds so naive and impressionable, almost like she’s delayed in some type of way. Ann was guiding her through some of the questioning—poor kid.
  • @Mrscarricom
Imagine if those pills had killed her he would be living his best life.
