What If Krillin sliced villains in half with the Destructo Disk?

One of the coolest techniques in all of Dragon Ball belongs to and was originated by one of the most underrated characters in the series - Krillin. The monk turned Turtle School disciple had created a technique that flattens Ki to the point it has a razor sharp edge while spinning incredibly fast - allowing the technique to cut through enemies far beyond the users power level with ease. This always left us as fans questioning why? Why isn’t Krillin just using the Destructo Disk more and finishing off enemies in a single move? Some may be saying that enemies will dodge, others will say that it isn’t in character of him, and the remainder probably refer to the filler scene of the Destructo Disk breaking on Perfect Cell’s neck to say it has limits. While I agree there are limits for the technique, I don’t think they are very low and notably Krillin is willing to use the technique as he did against Nappa, Vegeta, and Freeza - just not at notable times which allowed them to dodge or take minimal damage from the attack. Today, I want to present a bunch of minor What Ifs in essence - I want to establish the two major instances where Krillin COULD have won the fight using the Destructo Disk, but didn’t. I’m Carthu and this is What If Krillin used the Destructo Disk More? Make sure you like and subscribe for more Dragon Ball content.

Alternate title: what if krillin didn’t forget his best move 99% of the time?
  • @KillamriX98
I like how in DBZ, almost any time you finish a fight early, it screws them over for the next arc, because the power they attained by going the distance is what the next arc scales from, lol

If Cell doesn’t have any Frieza in him, how can he breathe in space?
  • Gotta point something out about that last one. King Cold would probably just track Vegeta down since he used one of frieza's space pod to escape namek, they'd 'make a deal' that if Vegeta tells Cold about who killed Frieza, Vegeta could live as one of the Kings servants. With a somewhat shaky agreement the two go to earth and then you have a fight with King Cold vs the Z-Warriors. But this time King Cold is aware of the Destructo Disk thanks to his talk with Vegeta so he know to kill Krillin right away. This causes Goku to transform into Super Saiyan and he attacks King Cold, BUT before the two can fight Vegeta hits King Cold in the back with his own Destructo Disk that he used when he cut off Gohan's Tail as a great ape.

8:31 Gohan: did you use your kienzan to defeat Freeza? Freeza: I WILL PUT YOUR HEAD WHERE MY TAIL USED TO BE Krillin: To answer your question Gohan.... No... no i did not do that

i will call this "What if KRILLIN was MORE INTELLIGENT?
  • Carthu’s voice acting makes his videos so much better than they already are, keep up the great work bro!

i love this, krillin is my favourite character so it’s nice to see him getting some attention for once also, the kienzan breaking on cell’s neck was anime filler, so at the moment in canon it’s effectively foolproof as long as you time it right also, imagine if krillin took notes from the spirit bomb and gave it ki tracking

What if dragon ball characters didn't yell out thier attacks
  • @Sword_Man_YT
Frieza: Foolish Human! You can't kill me! Krillin: Haha... Destructo disc goes brrgh...
  • @kai_3788
For the first scenario, you glossed over how Cell would be able to venture out into space. Because remember that in this version of the story Cell wouldn’t have Freeza’s DNA, because Freeza never bothered to go to Earth, so Cell wouldn’t be able to breathe in space.

Frieza can survive being cut into pieces, Carthu's Dojo. Or did you forget what pitiful state Frieza had been in when King Cold had found him? Not to mention the fact that Mecha Frieza was alive when he had been brought back to life, but in pieces in the Resurrection 'F' Saga?

Its kinda sad that you have to explain the virus every time you mention it. Yet it doesn't work. Might as well have a giant sign at the beginning of every video saying "THE VIRUS DIDN'T COME FROM YARDRAT." lol
  • @amveditz3345
Quick question, (from the last scenario) how was Majin Buu resurrected without the life energy from Gohan, if Goku never achieved super saiyan, Gohan would've never achieved super saiyan 2...so his life energy wouldn't have been strong enough to resurrect Buu...so who/what did?
  • @Cxmpxctz
9:40 I dont mean to be one of those "THE HEART VIRUS IS FROM YARDRAT" type of guy, but in another one of your what ifs, future gohan was the one to go to the past, so i dont see why it wont apply here. If you could explain to me in case im missing a small detail, id appreciate that because i dont like to back seat game or whatever this is i look like im doing.
  • @adamwade6243
Considering the obvious fact that with such drastic changes happening many years before Son Goku's contraction of the Heart Virus, it could be very possible that Son Goku might have gotten the Heart Virus at a much later time. Like what had happened in the very beginning of the Androids Saga with Son Goku feeling the effects of the Heart Virus when Android 20 and Android 19 would have ambushed the likes of Yamcha. Especially since Son Goku would have never achieved Super Saiyan and instead would have been working on mastering the Kaioken and the Spirit Bomb techniques he had learned from King Kai.
  • @Kenjitsuka
Great stuff as always! And gotta love Krillin getting some shine!
  • There is a third scenario on namek and that’s what if krillen used the kienzan vs dodoria
