This is the riskiest monologue to ever be performed on SNL and that’s why I love Louis

Who would think that admitting to mild racism would be the safe part of a monologue?
  • My favorite part of this whole bit is when he says “You can only really surmise, that it must be really good”, and seeing the band behind them drop their heads and shaking

This is actually the last SNL I can remember where I made an effort to watch it only because Louis was hosting. I made my wife watch it with me and I will never forget the look on her face getting more and more upset when he was doing the child molester bit. One of the best moments of my life. She was so angry about it. And it was that moment when it really hit me that we weren’t meant to be married, so now we’re divorced. The End

Q: How fucking good do you have to be to get a crowd to laugh at child molestation? A: Louis CK good.

The joke about the Middle East is aging a little too well
  • It's hard to watch other stand-ups after hearing Louis. He's been on another level for two decades.

To get on National TV and joke about child molestation is ballsy as fuck. Louis is an Absolute legend
  • Anyone else spend most of the time watching the video staring at the musicians in the background to see if they're enjoying it

Any other comedian even tries to joke about child molestation, Israel/ Palestine and being mildly racist gets their careers canned and Louis does it on SNL and has me in stitches. He's one of the greatest ever!

That was one hell of a journey. He was literally self assessing, and reading the audience while delivering his material, and was able to react and adjust in order to nail it. That was an artistic performance!
  • I feel like in comedy there seems to be a red line people tend not to cross. And then there's Louis CK molesting that red line.
  • Man i go back to this so often. Just such an incredible 10 minutes. I truly have never seen the band react so much to a monologue. Legendary status

The jokes in this monologue are sensational, but I'll give you some advice: Don't try to repeat them. I tried to be funny with them at my father-in-law's party and my girlfriend's whole family looks at me and treats me differently since then...
  • @BryonLetterman
Probably the best measure of how funny you are is if you get people to laugh at a joke about child molestation.

He pushed it to the very edge in this monologue. Very close to the edge. and he knew it. At the last scene you can actually see some fear in his eyes. What a legend.
