Being in the royal family seems like it would be really great, but it isn’t all having tea out on the patio. In fact, that’s a phrase the royal children couldn’t even utter! We’ll let you in on some of the strange rules the parents of royal children need to follow. All parents need to teach their children to be polite, but Kate Middleton and Prince Harry need to teach Prince George how to do the perfect Windsor Wave, and Princess Charlotte how to curtsy. There are also a lot of rules they need to obey when it comes to food, from how to file in line to the table, to how to use their cutlery to send a message to waitstaff. Royal children are expected to dress formally whenever they are out in public, and Prince George is expected to wear shorts instead of trousers to reflect his social status.

How much do you want to bet that some of those table rules are ignored at casual, private meals?
  • @sarahedwards2
I was surprised Princess Charlotte knew how to curtsy by the time she was two!

Queen Elizabeth II is NOT grandmother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte!!! She is their great grandmother!!!!!

Most of the table manners in this video are quite standard in a British home (provided they have been taught ) And the whole tea and dinner thing , that varies from county to county and even town to town. The British language has many many many different variants and dialects depending on where you live. Even in my county , my accent is very different to the one in the city 12 miles away.
  • Ummm.. are we not going to point out that Princess Diana’s legs are most certainly crossed above the knee..

1.50 when you supposedly meant to show Queen Victoria, you showed a photograph of HRH Princess Beatrice. Queen Victoria's daughter on her Wedding day. Since this is a public video, you should check these things over.

In Poland (and I guess in many other countries) every family opens their Christmas presents on Christmas Eve ;)

Just to clarify: in the UK dinner is either at lunch or teatime depending which one is the bigger meal. Hence why it can refer to either

I honestly can not stop eating rice. It’s part of my culture!
  • There's one good thing about having royal children in a wedding party. It's good practice for royal duty and public appearances that will be part of their lives in the future.
  • I respect the Royal Family they have tons of money but they use it very wisely and they don’t waste it like other dumb people and they’re not stuck up they’re very polite

Don’t you just love how this channel reuses facts from their own videos most of the time (with the royal family)
  • There is nothing special about the 'rules' for the use of cutlery. Those things mentioned are the proper way to eat with knife and fork.
