Steve Harris wrote this song from a nightmare he had after watching "the Omen"
  • Iron Maiden is one of the greatest bands of all time! I grew up listening to them. I have seen them in concert and they put on one hell of a show! This is one of my favorite songs!
  • Bruce Dickinson's scream in the intro is one of the most iconic 'YEEEEEEAAAAAAH's of ALL. TIME. 🤘🤘

Fucking legendary song. Album. Band. Discography. I still quote this literally every time the number 666 comes up. In high school my friends and I used to drive around at like 11 PM blasting iron maiden because that's all there is to do in Ohio and I have never stopped listening. Thanks for doing the studio version too, too many people jump straight to the live versions where you can't hear 90% of the mix.

Love your reaction, Cliff. This song was based on a dream by Steve Harris, the band's amazing bassist... in other words, it's NOT about satan worshipping. Simply indicative of the era, when a lot of people were beginning to question religion and its relation to good vs evil.

Welcome to the Maiden Family, Brother;-) This song is about a nightmare Steve Harris had. He also wrote the song "Fear Of The Dark" because that is how he has felt. Steve Harris isn't afraid to put himself out there through his music, as he is a very talented musician and writer of lyrics. There are so many great songs to choose from, as they have 17 studio albums and there are at least 5 to 6 great songs from each album, if not more, so that is 85 plus awesome songs;-) Up the mighty Irons!!!!!
  • This whole album was amazing. Man this has taken me back to my early teens. "Run to the Hills" off this album was also a class song.

This was the first Iron Maiden' song I heard when I was a teen. These guys enjoy playing nowadays as much as they did then. I'm really happy I found them when I was trying to find that 'heavy metal' stuff I somehow knew existed. BTW, I did the opposite. I just suscribbed. Try "Fear of the Dark" (totally my fav) (or '2 minutes to midnight')
  • This is the one that introduced me to Iron Maiden and I was hooked!!! They're the tightest live band I ever saw!

I love watching your Maiden reactions! Have you done Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner yet? I thought you had, but can't see it on your list?!
  • @taownet70
As a Christian that Loves Iron Maiden, this song and the band do NOT worship Satan. This song actually speaks to the potential of Satanism becoming part of a movement, and looking at what's happening around the world at the moment...??
  • @MravacKid
Not quite my favorite Maiden song, but Bruce's voice in the first section never fails to give me goosebumps. :)
  • Best album. Best line up. Best song Clive Burr was fantastic. The best Metal Drummer
  • @udayshah7205
I was in the mood for some iron maiden n u are on it like perfect😅 folks nowadays dont have this talent with guitars 😅
  • Rest in Peace to Clive Burr, the drummer on this track. In every video, dude always looked so happy to be there and that, to me, is what music is all about. He always looked so out of place, because he was always smiling while the rest of the guys had on their serious faces, but I know he was the one feeling the music the most, because how could you listen to good music and not smile? If I could see my dad again, there are only a few things I would thank him for, but introducing me to this band is one of them.

I saw them in Long Beach California where I lived at the time I’m in Santa Monica now but they played 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday and I was there all four nights in 1985. They filmed 🎥 the shows for what became the Live After Death cd/dvd! My favorite Bruce Dickinson moment: SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH…SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH ARENA!!! UP THE IRONS!!!😎😎😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • First concert i ever saw was Twisted Sister opening for Iron Maiden the powerslave tour been a fan ever since one of the best metal bands to ever step on a stage and Bruce knows how to get the crowd involved and yes that was a 9 and a half feet tall Eddie walking around on the stage
