Everyone knows that the superhero suit is what makes a superhero memorable. It doesn’t matter if you’re the most powerful being in the universe; if you don’t look cool, then what’s the point! And our favorite hero and the overall face of the MCU, meaning the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist, has certainly learned how to look cool over the years. What started with a simple and crude design in a cave in order to escape bad guys, soon morphed into one of the most powerful superhero suits in existence. And here’s the great thing about the Iron Avenger’s suits: they always learned from past mistakes!

Every time our favorite hero suffered a setback, usually that meant that by the next movie, that problem was fixed completely. Look at how Rhodey was shot down in Captain America: Civil War by Vision. And then in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony made sure that Peter Parker’s new suit came with a built in parachute. Think of the time when Tony traveled through the portal at the end of the first Avengers’ movie to hand deliver a missile. His suit malfunctioned because there was a lack of oxygen, but then later suits made it possible to breathe in space. Or look at the third movie in Tony’s franchise where he was trapped in a snowy environment. He made sure later suits had a heater installed to fight the cold. He was always a hero that was growing and adapting and it made for some exciting developments.

So go ahead and check out today’s video all about the failures that led to awesome upgrades in this particular superhero suit. After you’re done, be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button for more awesome MCU content like this. Oh and leave a comment or else the ice buildup will be too major!! Better not risk it. Which failure from this list are you most glad for?
  • @auf6856
Fun fact : while tony was working with the suits "flight stabilizer" he accidentally made a repulsor blast (the blasts that come out of his hands) which would lead to Tony's main feature of his suits.

Tony is the real definition of "learn from mistakes"

An improvement that a lot of people overlook is in endgame when hulk is about to snap we see Tony engage a wakandan holo shield. This is an upgrade to his suit's shield as in infinity war the power stone completely obliterated his nano bots when he used them as a shield and caused tony to actually run out of nano bots allowing thanos to stab him
  • @Jamie_Winsh
I love that Tony never talks about how he's made improvements from past experiences but the fans can still notice it. Such a cool subtle detail. My favourite is Thor charging Tony's suit in endgame. Great scene! Edit: Thank you for the likes! Never got so many 😂

You didnt mention the thrusters his having in inf war to catch up with that donut ship and Peter-thats from the failure he wasnt fast enough to catch Roney.

In Avengers: Infinity War Tony used a shield made out of nano tech, but Thano's attacks made the shield to breakdown and loose lots of nanobots, So in Avengers Endgame Tony made a shield from a force field to prevent that from ever happening again.

Vision did have perfect aim, its just that Sam escaped it by seeing the blast and ducking it, Vision only has perfect aim on a still target like all guns have, his mind stone beems are not heat seeking missiles so they can't change direction

I would also like to say that when Tony saw Rhodes falling down while trying to catch him ... He also felt the shortage of his speed. And hence his upgraded suit in infinity war has the ability to go at a huge speed in little seconds
  • @Kodiak_P
The speed at which he puts the suit(s) on is my favourite upgrade. It took so long with the first suit that Yinsen died, so each subsequent suit gets faster and faster to put on.
  • If you watch his repulsors closely, the Iron Man suits all improve on the repulsor tech with each passing model. In the first movie we see lots of sparks and stray fires from the hands and feet as he flys, but by Infinity War those stray sparks are nowhere to be seen, and the movies in between show different levels of improvement from start to end.

At a certain point, Tony began fitting his suits with multiple arc reactors, the most notable instances being Hulkbuster, running off the power of a whopping 11 individual reactors, and Hulkbuster Mk 2, which bumped that number up to 14 different reactors. The Mk 46 armor featured 28 micro reactors to supplement the main chest reactor, and the Mk 85 had 14 micro reactors with a similar function. By fitting his suits with supplemental, fully self-sustaining power sources, Tony ensured that even if the main reactor was rendered incapable of supplying the suit with power, the suit would still have a source of power with which to preserve the user's wellbeing. My only confusion is why Tony's suit during the events of Civil War had supplemental reactors while it would seem the War Machine Mk 3 suit, or any subsequent War Machine armors for that matter, weren't ever fitted with more than one. In fact, it appears that aside from Mk 50 and Mk 45, every depicted Iron Man armor created after Mk 43 was fitted with multiple arc reactors, but neither Pepper's Rescue armor or any rendition of War Machine was granted more than one.

Parachute should've been there since Mark-II though, a parachute is like the most basic fail-safe when you're making anything that can fly. It's actually weird that it took him that long to install a parachute considering he fell from the sky quite often.
  • In "Infinity War" Tony's two hand repulsors weren't enough to phase or hurt Thanos at all. In "End Game" when he tells Thor to hit him with lightning it powers up many repulsors that fire at once. They form into one concentrated blast that is strong enough to push Thanos back and make him stagger. Although Thanos ended up blocking the blast with his spinning sword thingy. Still a cool upgrade.
  • You can take my armor or destroy it, but there is one thing you cannot take from me: I Am Iron Man.
  • @trexadvent4726
Is it a shame that we're not going to see Tony Stark building Armors like the Uru Armor and the God killer Armor in the MCU? Do you think we will see Tony Stark from another Universe doing this?
  • @R3_En3zyProd
Tony is the perfect example of "learns from his mistakes", props to you man for covering this
