This isn’t Pipe. It is Tube. Tube can be round, square or rectangular. Pipe is only round.

I worked in a small factory in mich in the 70s where we made square tubing. 7 bucks an hour and you were covered in oil at the end of the day. It was a job but was also a real chit hole

I worked in Texas at a mill like this in the 1990s. The set up was pretty much the same except the rolls were welded together automatically. One roll was suspended near the ceiling with the loops hanging down. This was to allow time to weld them together. I don\t remember where the rolls were cut to size.
