Meet the Human Horizons HiPhi Z!

It’s an all-new luxury car that’s come straight from China, and it’s absolutely loaded with tech. What’s more, it looks unlike any car we’ve seen before! But is it more style over substance?

Well when it comes to the design, this is easily one of the most eye-catching cars we’ve ever driven! The outside of the car is covered in thousands of LED lights, that make it possible to show images & text at either the front, side, or rear of the car! It also comes with elements of purple trim which help it to stand out even more, and the front of the car is covered in a number of aggressively-styled vents and aero bits. If anything, it’s giving us some GT-R vibes!

Step inside and the luxury vibes are clear to see. There are soft-touch materials throughout, and the seats are super comfortable and come with massage functions. There’s also a massive infotainment screen up front, which is used to control nearly everything in this car. But thankfully, it’s super fast and comes with great graphics. It even adjusts itself to be pointing at the driver depending on the position of your seat!

So while the car is packed full of tech, it’s a much simpler story when it comes to the engine. The HiPhi Z comes with just one battery and motor combo - dual electric motors and a 120kWh battery which are good for 672hp and 820Nm along with a range of up to 438 miles.

So it’s oh-so eye-catching, and so is the price! The HiPhi Z starts from around £90,000. But given it looks so unique, is it clearly worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

I was surprised how much I liked this car. Drove well and just had this WOW factor to the design.

The beeping sound probably comes from the safety system which hasn't been calibrated for the UK road yet as it thinks you are driving on the wrong side of the road.
  • @CyclingGeo
Since it’s not sold in the UK, I’d imagine the beeping is just the lane departure system warning you that you’re a lunatic driving on the wrong side of the road.

I'm surpirsed everytime I see this car on the streets of Shanghai. Catches everyones attention and looks super wide, massive and techy!

In fact, with this machine, you can manually adjust the direction of the air flows :) On the climate settings screen, you need to move the drawn air flows :) You literally press the air flow on the screen and pull it where you want it to blow.
  • @CyAn-S
How overstyled do you want your car to be? Yes
  • @pxtract
I saw one of this in a car wash in China couple months ago, it's really a eye catcher and looks more futuristic in real life.

I've been following the current generation of chinese cars, and boy am I impressed. From the very advanced but still raw like HiPhi, to the absolutely ready Nio, to the scandi chic Zeeker, to the volume king BYD and the delightful ocean line. I'm VERY impressed with what China can do.

I love how goofy & unique it is. 9/10. It’s as if a GT-R and I-Pace had a kid that ran away from home at 18, got three PhDs in China, and now runs a multimillion $ corp from home 3 days /wk so it has time for a semi-pro gaming career

That bonging noise is probably it telling you the key isn’t charging 😂
  • @jasch9879
I really liked the part were all the people around were having a look at the car 😂
  • @johnsdea
I love how friendly Mat is with the strangers he meets on the streets
  • @noisyboy87
£90k for all that tech! That's pretty good value compared to some of the legacy manufacturers.
  • @marufbepary100
This car might be the ultimate flex machine. It gets more looks than a supercar.
  • @blueeyedbaer
I love the design. I wish more car makers would go for bold futuristic designs.

this is the first video i’ve seen from this channel and i absolutely LOVE the host’s personality! energetic and funny but not annoying, and it’s nice how you address cool AND uncool things about the car!

the car itself is real cool too, definitely something i’d wanna drive in cyberpunk 2077 lol

"people in Range Rovers are generally... lovely! they are lovely!" lmao

Designer: how many design elements do you want?

    Marketing: yes.
  • @Renzsu
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a car design that made me do a double take. Cool stuff!

According to a Toyota Times interview with the Japanese company’s newly established BEV Factory’s president, Takero Kato, he was shocked during a business trip to China.

“For the first time, I came face to face with the competitiveness of Chinese components,” Kato said. “In China, they were not simply learning and applying technologies, but also rapidly transforming manufacturing.”

“Laying eyes on equipment that I had never seen in Japan and their state-of-the-art manufacturing, I was struck by a sense of crisis – ’We’re in trouble!’ At the same time, I began to think that I would like to spend the rest of my career in China,” he added.
