A grand jury in Mississippi declined to indict the White woman whose accusation set off the lynching of Black teenager Emmett Till nearly 70 years ago. Carolyn Bryant Donham, now 88, initially claimed that Till made unwanted advances toward her, prompting her husband and brother-in-law to abduct, torture and lynch the 14-year-old.

For those saying she didn’t do anything, look up what PERJURY is. She lied in court and she confessed to Emmett grabbing her wasn’t true years later. And we absolutely should not “leave her alone” because she is the one who started the end of Emmett’s life for lying about something so serious; by saying this you are allowing her to escape facing her consequences.
  • Not enough evidence?! Dude, she is whole reason why he was Murdered in the first place and now you're saying nearly 70 years later you don't have enough to convict?! If it weren't for her EMMETT TILL would have been 81 years old! He could've gotten married, had a nice career, but I guess we'll never know all because of this woman!! RIP EMMETT TILL!!
  • You have got to be kidding me. Don't worry. GOD knows what you did. We know what you did. One day you will receive what you deserve. May GOD hold Emmitt in his hands.

My problem with people saying "they should leave her alone she's too old to try to get now" that did not stop anyone from getting bill cosby or harvey weinstein after decades of them doing thier deeds so why should age and time stop carolyn bryant for paying for her crimes give me a reason

“The greatest trick that the devil ever performed was convincing the world that he didn’t exist.” This woman regardless what age she is truly is a personification of what Keizer soze once said

Like many people, I’ve seen funeral pictures of Emmett. To me, he always looked older than 14 (perhaps because he was bloated). Today I found one that I had never seen before. The view was from behind him / to the side of him lying on a table in the prep room, the entire length of his body visible. What struck me was how he suddenly looked smaller like a child. It seemed even sadder to realize just how small he really was.

Why was she never arrested all these years before?? Here we were thinking she had died. The justice system continued to fail the Tills for so many years it’s insane. They never got justice, especially not little Emmett. I’m glad they finally have the peace they couldn’t find here on earth with God. 🙏🏼🕊

Always angers me when the truly evil live to a ripe old age.
  • A Nurse once said she was taking care of an old white woman on her death bed, she confessed she was being haunted by a black boy. She knew this boy back in the 1940s, because his sisters had prettier dresses than her, SHE LIED THAT HE RAPED HER!!! . Sadly this boy was lynched, his genitals cut off and family home burned to the ground 😞…and her life went on like nothing happened…until now…. The nurse said that the woman kept asking “Will I be forgiven?” And the nurse just told her ”Only the boy staring at you in the corner of your room can answer that” which she was too afraid to respond. Moral of the story: The Truth will always find you!

Still to this day we face a corrupt judicial system

If I were her I’d say the truth and take the consequences. I would rather pay for my sins in life than after death.
  • The message this sends to society is abhorrent. And people really gonna ask why people commit atrocious acts? Here’s one reason.
  • Lets use the same system that covered up for the killers to convict the killers. What could go wrong? America's system is BROKEN.
  • @JJ808
Insufficient evidence? She literally admitted it. Am I missing something

When this place gets its final judgement, don't say you didn't know WHY
  • @myxalplyx
They are idiots thinking the same justice system that protected the accuser and the killers are somehow going to now have a change of heart. That's stupid! Insanity!

Whatever isn’t paid on this earth is definitely paid on the afterlife.
  • @elainemarylee
It is a miscarriage of justice. The problem is when people like this are never punished for egregious crimes that resulted in the loss of life. Most likely, we will see an uptick in this behavior.

I'm very dissapointed😞. But, not surprised...
