Bo Nix – Episode #2 | Kurt Warner Breaks Down the Game Tape | College Series '24

Published 2024-04-05
Here we go with Bo Nix, Part Two of our College Football StudyBall Series in Oregon's game against USC. I know it's hard to tell on the tape sometimes about the technique. That was the one thing that kind of jumped out at me in the first tape - and again, I don't want to say it's negative, but something that you see that you want to see cleaned up is his ability to create more power on his throws with his body, his ability to stand in the pocket, and be a little bit more patient in the pocket when things are happening around him. But we did see in the first day, the real positives were decision-making, his feel for the game, understanding what he was seeing, and getting the ball out of his hands. Okay, a lot of shorter, quicker throws. Not that they were bad decisions, not that they were places that he shouldn't have gone with the football because most of them were good decisions, but their office has built a lot more around the shorter throws. So let's see as we dive into this state, it's going to be against USC. We see some more throws down the field if we see some improvement in those other are. Because we never want to just take one game and say, "Okay, that's who that player is," and it's wide with all of these quarterbacks and breaking out two different games because I'm trying to figure out and put it all together to give you guys at least an idea of who these players are, maybe what can translate at the next level because you're seeing it game after game after game. #nfldraft #bonix #nfldraft2024

Bo is throwing away from the defender which keeps the interceptions down but makes the receiver reach, good thought process that needs cleaning up. When Bo is in his flow he can throw on the go, I like the Bo show.

Huge benefit having learned before the pro’s!
  • The idea is that at the NFL level - elite coaches should find these flaws and coach them correct.

The troubling thing is with mechanics not all there and being 24. One would think that should be cleaned up by now.
  • Yup his footwork is terrible... contrast Montana with Nix & you will see the difference between a SB Champ & a chump <<< so if Sean Payton & Lombardi do not have Nix get his feet right & trust in the pocket & the plan his career will be NOT For Long! LET'S GO TEAM! Thanks Kurt I appreciate you!

lol he’s old no thanks. This draft class is scary because of the effects of all the extra playing time player age and muscle development. 21 compared to 24-25 is a big difference in muscle development and growth. There are a lot of nfl players who are 24 that would have a field day playing in college football.
