Waiting for this to release in Australia. The variable output modes are a nice feature. The cost for installation here will be interesting. I want to change my 8Kw Fronius inverter to a Powerwall3 if it makes sense money wise . The waiting list here will be huge I imagine.

Have placed my order for PW3 and solar with Heatable - looking forward to it!

power = kw, energy = kwh, you don't store power, you store energy. This stuff is already really complicated for the average consumer, helps to use the right language.
  • Another good video as always! Can you please do a bill comparison video on Efficient boilers vs Hybrid Boiler. I know they always use the cheapest option but just confused as surely gas is always the cheapest option. Needs explaining pleaae. Really looking at getting one but can see no comparable videos
  • Just a quick question so for me I would want the full 11kw discharge rate as I have a 10.5kw shower , but your saying that the grid decides that for me ? Or you talking about the amount of solar I can send back to the grid ?

Can you install this in a garage that is part of the house? Is there a fire risk or are LPF cells not a problem when regularly charged to full on hot days?
  • Great video as always. I am currently considering a qoute for a further 18 panels on top of 8 already ordered for the garage. One of your points made in the video is the benefits of start up voltage providing the benifits of micro invertors. My qoute includes a tesla powerwall 3 as well as 18 enphase microinvertors. Why would I need both apart from the ability to monitor each panel individually with the microinverters?
  • so is it possible for me with a g98 3.68kwh 10 yr old inverter on FITs able to swap out my inverter and slot this straight in, and increase my current solar pv from 4kwh (250w panels) to the max i can squeeze on my roofs all without any extra paperwork/notifications ???

Great video, terrific production values. Question please. I have a solar array, from early 2011 with a very high FIT payment level. Can I fit a Powerwall and still receive the same level of FIT? Also could I have another solar array too, even if it needs to be separate from the original and still receive the FIT for the original set up. Sorry for so many questions, but I'd really like a Tesla Powerwall and if possible more solar. But I'd not want to sacrifice the very good FIT I'll receive for another 12 years.

How well does this integrate with the REA Fusion 2 panels you sell? Can they be added straight to the PW3 or would you still recommend the micro inverters? If you dont need the micro inverters, and I read the installation time is hours less, I'd imagine this would be a good cost saving?

Great video. Such a shame we can't get them in Ireland.

if the gateway is there.. then why does it have regulations around how much battery varible output you can have? Isnt that the whole idea of the gateway to isolate you from the grid in the first place?
