    I trained for 2 weeks then I could hold my breath for over 3 minutes under water. But I did the excercise fast and not slow and relaxed

    That is amazing!! It works so well, i used to only hold my breath for thirty seconds, but now i can do it for 2 minutes!

    You kids did great. I start to panic after a minute! But, when I was in the Coast Guard many, many years ago, I trained for Search and Rescue. I had to hold my breath for 5 minutes. When combined with the dead man's float technique, it was a way to use less energy when far from shore or trying to survive for long periods of time while lost at sea. People drown because they become exhausted trying to stay afloat for long periods of time waiting for rescue. The dead man's float technique and reduced breathing actually save lives.
