The Home Buying Process NC

Published 2023-02-01
What is the process of buying a home in NC? I explain a few simple steps in this video.

1) Meet with a lender and get pre-qualified/pre-approved. This will make your offer stronger, and is usually required by the sellers to accompany any offer made.

2) Meet with a Realtor, and determine your wants/needs in your next home or investment property.

3) Begin touring homes with your Realtor. Your Realtor will be doing as much research as possible on any homes you'd like to view in person, and discussing their findings with you before touring.

4) Make an offer on a home you love! Your Realtor will help you craft and offer, and help you negotiate terms with the sellers.

5) Work through your due diligence period, completing inspections and making sure you want the home. You can terminate the contract during your due diligence period should you decide the home is not right for you.

6) Negotiate any repairs.

7) Close and get the keys to your next home!

Note: Moving into your new home is not always a smooth transition, as it is rare that people get to move from one place to another in the same weekend, much less the same day, so be aware of this going in.
