  • Rest in Peace, 30ft microphone cord, you were so valued you were quickly replaced
  • I love how John writes a whole video about real feeling whose thesis was summed up in the first 30 seconds in which the entire nerdfighter community went "The king is dead- LONG LIVE THE KING" over two cables because a community against loneliness formed around them

The universal score settle is a VERY real fear for me, well put.

After one particularly sad loss, Ted Lasso said "there is something worse out there than being sad, and that is being alone and being sad, and ain't nobody in this room alone" and I think about that a lot with this kind of group feeling around sports (and often also live music, I think).

'Those feelings are less unpleasant when you're not so lonely in them', somehow, I feel this sentence in my bones.

What I love about The Format a) seemingly unrelated but very related philosophical ramblings that kind of feel like my own thoughts sometimes jump b) seeing John and Sarah’s beautiful house

The thing that happens to John's voice when he's telling a joke he really likes (see also: policy genius ads) is really wonderful.

The sadness I felt at the loss of the 30ft cord and the joy I felt at the 36ft cord were definitely simple and pure emotions.

I'm super into concerts and I think something you said made me realize one thing I love about them: "I was with people whose love is oriented in the same direction as mine...the emotions were shared"

I love The Format. It somehow has the old-school weird vlogbrothers vibe (which I love) while allowing for John's thought provoking musings (which I also love)
  • @HannahZerai
the way you can deconstruct my entire life and then reconstruct it again in under 4 minutes is honestly insane
  • @Naiadryade
I really strongly relate to getting a feeling of dread along with the happiness when something good happens. So, it's at least the two of us, John. It makes me wonder if this is an OCD thing? Or maybe more broadly an anxiety disorder thing?
  • The format is one of the, like, two or three great institutions of humanity.

hey john the delivery on the 36 ft cord was incredible. a genuine work of cinematography

I feel like John goes through a roller coaster of emotion just recording a vlogbrothers.

When the painting of MF Doom showed up I jumped with delight at the unexpectedness. That was a solid emotion and well-liked as far as feelings are concerned
