Speaking of meeting characters at random, my recent trip to Disneyland was unforgettable. I was in line for Indiana Jones and as I was walking, looking down on my phone, Indiana Jones appeared out of nowhere and stopped the woman in front of me. He said to her, "I like your shirt" then fist bumped her, and started walking away backwards smiling at her. I was in complete shock! As he was walking away I pointed at him with the biggest smile on my face and said, "INDY!" He turned to me, tipped his hat and said, "How you doin' pal?" I had to keep on walking as I was holding up the line but we exchanged smiles and waves and he went off. People around me were saying just how cool that was. That made my day as I'm a HUGE Indiana Jones fan. Absolutely magical. I'll never forget that.

I've been to both recently and I agree Disneyland is better. The hotel proximity, the two parks and hopping ability, and shorter lines due to more rides per park are something that I forgot about prior to our Florida trip. It didn't take long waiting for busses and standing in line for 40 minutes to get real old real quick. Plus downtown Disney being walkable as well is really nice.

Disneyland is easy to get around. You can walk back to your hotel and drop off souvenirs, use the bathroom, take a quick rest, etc., and be back in the park super quick. The socal weather is awesome, you can be outside all day long from start to finish if you want. Rides they have Alice in wonderland, roger rabbit, Mr toad, Pooh bear ride complete with heffalumps and woozles dream sequence , etc. plus the food Disneyland has tigger tails and raspberry Coca Cola. Also the history, Walt built the park and was there (even had an apartment). The snack Doritos was invented at Disneyland (the predecessor to rancho del zocallo). So the history is there. I like the Disneyland castle too. I went on a tour, and I think they said the paint for the castle (some specialty paint for the 100th anniversary shield was like 2 grand a gallon—it does some sort of aurora borealis effect when light hits it

Unfortunately the monorail will be down for a while due to its proximity to construction in Downtown Disney. I love taking the monorail into the park, but I would highly recommend that anyone going for the first time to go through the front gate to get the reveal when going through the tunnel.

As a California native who has lived in Oregon for 15 years, my inner SoCal girl is getting a little ego and beaming with pride. 😂 Their castle may be bigger, but ours was first! Lol Thanks for the fun video and giving me a little hometown pride. 😊

Last week at DCA we were walking past Guardians of the Galaxy ride and to my right Captain America starts walking side by side with us while talking to my kids in the strollers for like a whole minute before ducking into a side door. Insane!!! ❤

Hahahahaha loved how you didn’t say “I’m not gonna say that Disneyland is better because that’s where Walt walked,…” (but said it).

I couldn’t agree more! I have been to both more times than I can count and you are absolutely correct. The Kali River Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom is a full minute shorter than Grizzly
  • @disneylandlux
Love it! You’re an expert in both parks and I agree completely! One that you didn’t mention is that early entry in Disneyland is a huge benefit with zero lines and very few people so we get up to 4 rides before the park opens. That does not happen at Disneyworld because everyone gets early entry there so it’s not helpful.
  • @EmChrisMommy
Agree! Just got back from Disneyland last week ( my third trip). I went to to Disney World 5 years ago. It takes so long to get anywhere there and the humidity. The only thing I prefer of Disney World is more affordable Disney property hotels and Pandora. But DCA has Cars Land. :)
  • @Gigi_K
Love this!! 👏👏 😄 Thank you so much! 🤗
  • @rygregory
I’ve been to all the Disney parks except for Shanghai and although each park has its claim-to-fame, Disneyland is still the one that is peak Disney magic. Disneyland feels like the best version of a family-owned theme park where “everybody knows your name”. It’s due to the chill vibe of the park and its guests. The other parks, albeit very impressive and fun, just seem a little ‘corporate’ to me. Especially WDW.
  • @drewlawson2142
We were seated just to the right when you walked by Mickey’s PhilharMagic theater and saw you filming! Love the vids, we watched a few when getting ready for our trip.
  • @Shirl_RN_2.08
I really enjoyed the comparison of both wdw and disneyland. I only went once to wdw, and the humidity and heat just killed it for my son. To this day, he refuses to go back. I love your impressions. My favorite is Mater, but I'm Loving Gollum!
  • @rakutenshi7
I found your channel not long ago, but I have been loving it! Hubby and I are going to Disneyland on the first Monday and Tuesday of November, one day for each park, I was reading that the first weeks of November are a good time to go. How is the weather normally around that time? I still have more of your videos to watch so I can be prepared, I have a bit of OCD with trying to plan and prepare for trips hahaha, any words of advice? Thanks again for your awesome videos, they help a ton! ❤
  • @ashleymyrrh1756
I couldn’t agree more. There is something quite special about Disneyland. Bigger is not always better.
  • @greenpvmpkin
I'm going to Disneyland for the first time in one month. Your videos really helped me! Thanks for your amazing videos. Greets from a little city in Chile!
  • @mmh290
Addressing the guests at each park - Disneyland and DCA are mostly comprised of local guests who appreciate the fact they can visit weekly, whereas WDW is mostly tourists who feel they’ve paid a ton of money and will not return soon and there might be a sense of entitlement there. Plus, as you had mentioned, the weather is miserable (hot and humid through the night) in FL compared to CA.🤣 At least it cools down in CA in the evenings.
  • @kjc_cal2112
Awesome video, we recently went to Disneyland and we were so close to going to WDW, glad we didn’t! I CAN NOT WAIT until Disneyland Forward gets the green light to start!!!!!
  • @savannah4439
PSA the Disneyland monorail is closed for refurbishment until the end of August! So if you’re planning a summer trip, I wouldn’t count on having it as a transportation option
