This episode should been seen by more. Important message about the food security problems that northern Canadians face

12 dollars for a head of cauliflower ? This is criminal.
  • First time i dont see Matty goofing off so much, i really enjoyed this and hope he covers a bit more of the real life situations.

This series NEEDS to be on mainstream tv. It's so enlightening and terrifying at the same time.

“Ya, it tastes like frozen bloody seal liver” 😂
  • @TheAxeaman
I was a bit scared that Matty would go in all gungho and wouldn't give the people the publicity they need. He didn't. I like both sides of Matty.

    Matty: It's amazing

    Inuit guy: It's... not amazing

    😂😂
  • @Spaxcore
I love how chill Matty is around the Inuit knife guy.

Blaming indigenous populations for the endangered status of marine populations like whales and seals is the best possible example I can think of for missing the forest in the trees
  • Duuuuuude, that knife maker, someone help him out setting up an online shop. Those blades sold online easily 125$ a piece, hand made and cultural background.

Matty shirtless on the snow playing around with the whip is peak Canadian!

I don't know why these videos are unlisted, they're amazing!

In terms of environmentally sound living and being in harmony with the land these people are so much better than the ones who criticize their harvesting of animals. Sadly it seems like, as always, their government has forsaken Indigenous people.

Thanks Matty for visiting my people... I’m not Inuit but from a different reservation in USA. I’m Native American and I’m a big fan. Thanks for sharing this beautiful episode. I’ll be a fan for life. Keep it going!!!!!

really makes me think about my uber eats food that was delivered by a homeless man who lived in his van. he told uber he was delivering on his bike to save on taxes. i talked with him for about an hour on the social economics in seattle. cant even fathom what is happening up there in canada. good on ya matty

Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t have a problem hunting for elk to keep their family alive.
For him to say “ the land is our grocery store “ is the most fitting metaphor.
It a way of life because they need to survive

after seeing inuit food in this video, I really REALLY want to try some.
As a Navajo, even though I predominantly grew up in the city, I also grew up eating organs (my dad's mom makes the best blood sausage on the planet and I will fight anyone who says otherwise), intestines (achii 😋), and every single part of an animal.
My favorite was when our grandpa would let us pick meat off of the sheep's head that he roasted. It was a big deal because, the head was his favorite and was always reserved for him alone.
So, seeing their traditional cuisine just made my mouth water and stoked my appetite.
  • the fact that the coat wraps around Matty perfectly confirms he is actually a human seal
