Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

Hanson is one of the few true intellectuals left in our country. He communicates with clarity, nuance in a straight-forward manner. Unfortunately, we don't have people like him in government.
-
This is very important. I once heard it said, "Those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it". Too many Americans aren't paying attention to what's really going on. I'm a big fan of history. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.
-
Thank God for minds like Mr. Hanson’s. And for the freedom we have to hear it!

„When exposing a crime is treated as a crime, you are ruled by criminals“
Eward Snowden (1983-) -
I would agree with this. A nation is a group united by the same values, goals, and language. They should never surrender their decision making powers to an “international body.” The EU is a good example of what NOT to do and I believe that Great Britain did the right thing when they broke away.

Victor Davis Hanson will go down as a legend of thought and classic history

I just discovered Victor in the past few days (2/22). What a great mind and wealth of information about which my wife and I are aligned.
Thank you! I only wish I had chosen Hillsdale College back when I went to college. Mine alma mater, GMU (Fairfax, VA) is now something for which I have become embarrassed and ashamed. They're no better than media outlets like, The Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, The AP, et al. -
One of this century’s MOST brilliant minds. Thank you Mr. Hanson, for sharing your vast wealth of knowledge with the rest of us. You are always welcome!
-
I for one am so glad Mr. HANSON that your voice is reaching a wider audience. You are an intelligent man with a lot of common sense. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
-
VDH is excellent at distilling large historical concepts into relevant contemporary issues.
-
I wish we had leadership that emulated a man of his intellect and wisdom 🙏

I have just finished Hillsdale's course on "american citizenship and its decline", and Dr Hanson's lecture's are very informative and insightful. I urge you all to give the course a look; for its free, and the knowledge you gain leaves you feeling thankful, privileged, and a better understanding of the mess that politicians have created in our times. Knowing is half the battle.
A personal favorite quote from Dr Hanson in one of the lectures - "Progressivism is the bastard child of Enlightenment" -
Victor is truly an inspiration in academia.
Enjoy listening to his teachings.
He can tie the historical past to the current events like no other. -
I'm truly grateful to Dr. Hanson for his understanding of history and consummate delivery of relevant pieces for our use of them in an orderly way.
-
I already took this course on line. Very happy what Hillsdale College is offering on line for free. You can support Hillsdale College by choice. It is wonderful way to learn for everybody, young and old. I am 63 and took 10 on line courses from them.

This is a lesson greedy, corrupt people fail to learn. It goes on and on and on
