The magic of Hollywood never fails to amaze us. It truly is incredible to think about all the impressive ways they can fool us into believing that what we are seeing on screen is real. One of the most impressive skills is the ability to transform someone’s body in subtle and realistic ways. There are many ways around this - the obvious and easiest choice of course being body doubles. However, this doesn’t always do the trick, and sometimes what is required takes a bit more effort and planning. That is when the magic of CGI and prosthetics come into play! Some of these had us so filled, we were SHOCKED to discover the movie magic behind them!
The prosthetics we often see are to make people look like monsters, or other worldly creatures, but in many of these cases, it was for simple and muted adjustments, like making an actor appear a few sizes larger than they actually are. With the magic of CGI it seems that nearly anything is possible! From fake abs, to superhero suits, to full faces superimposed on other people’s bodies!
