Child and Youth Homelessness and the American Rescue Plan Act

Published 2021-03-18
The American Rescue Plan Act, H.R. 1319, contains several new funding streams and policies that directly impact education, services, and housing for children and youth experiencing homelessness. These include $800 million in dedicated funding to support the identification, enrollment, and school participation of children and youth experiencing homelessness, including through wrap-around services, an extension of Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for unaccompanied homeless youth and youth from foster care at 18, even if they are full-time students, and many housing, nutrition, income, and other supports. This webinar provides an overview of the final law, and what happens next.
