St John looks like the neighborhood I grew up in Boston Massachusetts. Same type of row houses

I can't believe this is the first I've heard of this film. A lot of talented people involved in the making of this. Great job to them, and thanks for posting.

I just stumbled on this film! I knew Rosemary years ago! Actually went to her wedding in Vancouver with my husband Bas Burke.
I’ve lived in BC for over 50 years! Funnily enough, I’m planning on returning home next year. I figure by July, 2023 I’ll be living out the rest of my life in St. John’s.

  • I remember having a near death experience in Vancouver in '98 and feeling the pull to come visit home. I came home in Nov '98 and bought this video, on VHS, in the Signal Hill gift shop. I felt a reconnection then and now to my hometown. And it's so well done. It makes me so homesick. And Brian Hennessy, whom I just discovered died at 72 just over a year ago, God bless him, mentioned how you can walk through St. John's and feel the 'other city' of your memories, and of pictures. I know this feeling absolutely.

A lot of things have changed even since 1998, which was not that long ago.

Spent a wonderful holiday in Newfoundland some years ago. Amazing memories, meeting residents and making lifelong friends❤ hope to go back soon.

Hobo Bill! St. John's had such great characters in the 90's.

Great video. Brings me back to my childhood growing up in Downtown St.John's.

This was wonderful! So many colourful people, as bright and vibrant as the Jellybean Row houses that line the downtown streets of St. John's. Thank you for posting it. (And thanks to the YouTube algorithm that brought it to me.)

At 20:23 there are three men sitting on a park bench. The man on the right is the late Wally King. He was a good fella and he always wore a green beret. Good memories of a good man. We would belly up to the bar at The Cottage from time to time. God rest his soul.🙏
